      Depression/Weird thought process Makes lucidity

As some of you know yesterday, I drink nothing but cranberry juice. And I had 3 LDs..

I think some of it has to do with depression I had.. Before I went to bed last night, I looked at an Old buddie picture from middle school of me and my friends (I was the only guy in the pic lol)
and well thay were my best friends in the whole world.. and I moved away.. and I was all depressed last night about it... I was acting all weird, I wrote reality check on my hand last night. And I even wrote loser on my hand, and stuck it to my forhead just to be funny.. But I closed the picture and went to bed felling Weird/stupid/funny/depressed (I am not bipoler or anything like that BTW) and I had an LD, maybe if you could induce weird fellings like this before bed, it might keep your right brain active thus inducing a lucid dream..
Try it out see how it gose!

      >_> wish I could I am way to easy-going to be swayed by mere emotions.

Few humans are as easy-going as me. Very few, I could probably count them on a single finger in fact it's that bad.

You may be onto something however. Extreme emotions usually tend to cause lucidity in a dream. However while awake, I am sure your "average" emotions would do the trick in theory.

i know exactly how to depress myself, and i hate it, its to do with a freind and family, if i wasnt holding it in right now, id probably be crying, i hate thinking about it, but if it means having an LD then i might try it.

But it had a lot to do with you visualising aswell did it not? :S
After looking after a picture i'm sure you had thoughts racing through your head... possibly images? I dunno, im just not sussed that you could LD by emotion alone however I hope im wrong.

No, I dint have a lucid dream or dream anything about my friends. I dint visualize..
Think, I should experiment with this? And then maybe make a tut? I would have to look into all possible reasons why this happens and all that

I don't think that depression will give you lucidity. If that were the case then I and a number of other people would be lucid every night. I think it's more so a unique instance of a strong emotion, not depression itself. After a really good day or a really stressful exam I tend to have lucid dreams.

Anyway, see http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ead.php?t=6881 for the Research Guidelines. If you think it will work, send an experiment proposal to someone on the staff, and head over to the research forums(http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=32) for discussion and to recruit participants. Once studies have been conducted we can establish if it is really able to induce lucidity.

it could acually induce one, depresion may stimulate the brain, therefore making you more aware.

it could also help towards a wild, because it keeps the mind awake, but your body may still fall asleep
