I did reality hand checks for about three weeks then had my first LD. But I hadn't put a time frame on it. I knew it would come and was somewhat relaxed and believed if I made a habit of RC's eventually I would do one in a dream.

      Bingo, it worked.

Maybe take a couple nights off. I did that too when I was trying. Even though I have them somewhat frequently now I still have to be patient. It's not an at will type thing for me.

I want to LD now. So I do my reality checks, read on the subject of dreaming and try different techniques. But one thing I know is it will come. If not tonight, tomorrow or a couple nights from now. It's cool becuase I'm not in a rush.

The thing for me is there is always more to try and do so I' more about the journey.

As soon as I had my first LD I wanted another and that hasn't stopped since I started.

I had approximately 20 and then had a stressful time in my life and had a 5 week dry spell. But now I'm having maybe two a week and a lot of great vivid regular dreams. That five week speel was tough.

AND a lot of my first LD's were real short and over time they got longer and more stable. Some of my LD's only lasted seconds but I still remember them and am glad for them.

Don't let it bother you too much. You WILL have a lucid dream at some point, but it can take a while. Believe me-the effort is worth it once you have that first LD, even if it lasts for 10 seconds.

I suggest spending half an hour or so reading about lucid dreaming on this site, then taking a nap in the middle of the day with LDing on your mind.

Also, in my opinion the best two methods are WBTB and DEILD. Practice doing those two methods and you will succeed.
