      cycle of results

I wanted to write about this a long time ago. I actually might have done so, my memory is so bad, forgive me if I have, but anyway!

I'm the kind of person that kind of goes head first into everything and then loses interest. Even with Lucid Dreaming, I dove head first! I bought books, read many posts, and posted my own. After a while, however, I kinda lost interest (I know..: "how can you lose interest in lucid dreaming?"). But in my experience I've found some pretty interesting things..

What I noticed was that all that effort, all the focus and concentration I put towards lucid dreaming burns a hole in the mind! For weeks I would strive for a lucid dream, with no results. However, It seemed that the week that I gave up was the week that I would experience a lucid dream!

What I am suggesting here is not a cycle of results, but a cycle of effort! The idea is to dive into dreaming! for at least a week! Make it all you care about. Do RCs as often as you can, read any literature you can.. Then, after a week, forget about it! Relax, just enjoy your life.. After a week of relaxing, when you are going to bed, just suggest a lucid dream to yourself...

I am usually very busy and this technique has produced amazing results for me. I have been having long, vivid, controlled lucid dreams about every 3 weeks. I would love to know if this helps anyone else. Please respond with questions, compliments, or complaints.
      Thank-you!

That makes sense to me, I have had some personal experience. About 5 months ago I got back into LDing after a month off. I spent about a week and a half writing in my dream journal everyday (even got a new journal) and doing rc's etc. A few nights in a row I didn't remember any dreams and I got really lax then one night, about another week later, I told myself I would have an LD as I was falling asleep. I had an LD that morning!

I think I would rather have the discipline to stick with it and have the ability to LD at will, but this could def be useful for the casual dreamer or anyone who has had zero success.

      Forget about it?!

Who knows, that actually might be a good technique, but I'm too anxious for quick results to try it, lol. Plus, when I stop focusing on dreams, my recall gets really bad
