      Cool Wild technique

I had my girlfriend wake me up at 7:30 in the morning before she went on her jog. I had her wake me up every time I started to doze off for about 10 min. After that I imagined myself digging my hands in sand. After about 4 min of doing this, it felt like my hands were actually feeling sand. I opened my eyes and I was in my bed, but in a dream. My GF waking me up time after time made me really tired and made the transition from waking to sleep really easy.

You don't have to use a person but set an alarm to go off every 3 min for 15 min. After that, use whatever technique that works for you. It worked really well for me.

      I....... I love you. <3

Edit: Can you help me with my WILD's if I PM you? ... I know what to do but It fails when I think it works.

If you use an alarm, be sure it is one that will go off without you having to turn it off. Just moving to turn off the alarm can make it harder to go in to a WILD.

It's because this isn't really a new technique, lots of people visualize during their WILDs.

whenever my girlfriend stays over I always drift in and out cos my bed is really small and we have to constantly move around to be comfortable but, that means I always have a bunch of really vivd dreams when she stays over. I can see how this works

there is a timer on saltcube.com, where you can tell it to beep every couple of mins and then stop. so you wake up, nod off, wake up nod off, etc. as you keep doing this you get closer to the borderline of sleep and wakness.

also with the vivid imagery thing. it is very good because if you start imagining senses for your 'dream body' it will take your attention of the real senses making the transition much easier

      +

by doing this vivid imagery thing, you are mimicing a low level dream, your little beach scenario displayed very similar brainwaves to that of a dream, which tricks the subconcious into thinking you are already asleep.

      +

the vivid imagery is a very good mind exersise to stay focused. for some reason imagining all the senses aswell keeps me very focused, i dont drift off like a normal thought strand.

      anywhoos. good luck

Interesting, so, what you are saying is that if someone gets to SP, then imagines some scene such as that beach scene with all the five senses, you'll likely LD?

That's now commonly called an anchor. I'm just trying to point out that it's nothing new so that I don't have to lock the thread.

Yes I know but most newbies aren't clear and have no idea, and they get these crazy ideas about ILDs and etc.

Its kind of like the trance induced WILD technique with the reverse blinking, i use it to tire myself out easily making the transition indeed much easier. But it is like shift said, its basically just another form of anchor

Also, what I am trying to convey is that you need to actually fall asleep to enter a dream. I am reading a lot of posts saying that they get the feelings on sleep paralysis and then nothing happens. What happens when you set your alarm over and over again is that you get closer to the waking/sleeping median each time it wakes you up. I want people who have trouble with WILD to understand that you need to actually fall asleep!

Yea Its more like keeping some tiny bit of consciousness while falling asleep. That's when using an anchor is effective.
