1st of all here's my best reality check that worked for me once (because I only used it once and it worked that time, I was too stupid to use it again until I realized that other RCs don't work compared to this...)
I was in a dream where I was outside my grandparent's house, and everything looked like it did in real life (even though I was in a cop car for some strange crime LOL). I remembered one RC was to "backtrack" meaning to ask yourself how and why you got here. I couldn't remember and was Lucid automatically.
This is like shooting 2 birds with one stone, here's why: It helps you with dream recall while awake which transfers into dreams. Know your daily schedule, that way you know what order things are in. That way you'll remember to backtrack in dreams, too. Transportation: how did you arrive (here). If you don't remember, you're asleep. If you are in a car and you don't remember where you're going, you're asleep.
