      I don't want to...

Last night there were so many ridiculous things happening in my dream, i should of hit myself for not becoming lucid. I thought to myself and I wondered why. to me, it seemed as if i didn't want to become lucid - but I know I do, or else i wouldn't be here! is it because at that moment in my dream i didn't want to become lucid, or did i need to experience it? or is it something i couldn't get off my mind? i dunno

oh yeah, it was about a friend i haven't seen in a while, last time i saw him we had an argument - and in the dream i gave him a present.

I don't know about you but every night when I dream ridiculous things happen to me. Nobody knows why the untrained mind cannot recognise these oddities, people speculate that it is because all dreams have a purpose and if we were to be conscious in the dream that purpose would be lost.

Just find your dream signs and learn to identify them in your dreams, this is the way to achieve lucidity (after a reality check of course).

      heres a theroy

I have many ridiculous dreams that i dont become lucid in but the one time i came close i was doing some thing normal. Mabye that when a dream turns into a C.F your mind is paying so much atention to whats hapening it forgets to look for dream signs

Im sure as we get the hang of this well pick up the weird and the normal dreams more often

How often do you take a look at things in the real world and really wonder if they're logical or not? Are you aware of the fact that you walk through a door? that you use a #2 pencil? that you call a friend when you get home from school/work? We're just not aware of everything that we do in the waking world and the same thing goes for when we dream.

When you sleep, there's the added bonus of having much of the part of your brain that controls logic and reasoning shut down as well. You're naturally not thinking straight and your mind wanders where it will. You just have to develop the habit of not only waiting for weird things to happen, but searching them out and asking whether or not what is going on right now makes sense.

A lot of people do flippant RCs where they just plug their nose, try to breathe, and say "I must not be dreaming." They don't take the time to ask themselves if what is going on around them makes logical sense. If you ask yourself a simple question such as "What am I doing right now?" you may find the answer very different if you're in a dream.

      *walking down a street*
"So, what am I doing right now?"
..."I'm delivering a wildebeest to my aunt who has passed away... wait, what?"

It's a hard habit to get into, but if you can do that, you'll catch a lot more things which are out of place... (like the fact that I'm having the hardest time typing today! Eck!)

      Good luck
