The FAQ is a pretty good idea though. Plus I agree with Lysergic Lucidity.

Maybe. Just tossing out ideas, not in the mood to refine them.

You'd probably need all your little fingers and toes, and then some, to count the number of times that this exact issue has been brought up, along with possible solutions.

But for whatever reason these kinds of changes (like making a FAQ) take a LONG time to take effect on DV. I once volunteered to take on a huge project (either this exactly or something similar, I forget now) and was ignored, probably because I'm not staff.

Sooo, not sure what to tell ya. Keep trying?

Oh, get over yourself. If you don't want to answer dumb questions, don't. There are plenty of us who don't mind. It doesn't matter what you do, no-one will read the rules. I didn't when I joined.

I agree, I'm tired of seeing those threads also. "Was this SP?!?!"

Short answer: If you have to ask it probably wasn't!

However, the search tool definitely has to be improved as well. I always search threads before I post ( unless my circumstance is very unique to me) and sometimes I find what I’m looking for, and most of the times I don't, and then I'll get "this has already been brought up, use the search!" Which of course, I did! SO that would be my suggestion..

BUT really, get over it….. every situation is unique and when you have your first WILD or SP or LD you really want to share and get feedback that is personal to you and not just read about other people's experiences, that is why DV is here, that is why I am a member, and I don't mind the redundancy one bit!

I change my mind! instead of a just an FAQ, we also need to sticky specific questions. so that when the noob comes on the forum, scared of some demonic possession, he reads the stickied thread..........

"Paralyzed? Evil Presence in room?"

and they look at the thread title and go...eureka! 'thats what happened to me!!' click on the thread, and we calmly explain to them what the hell sleep paralysis is

if you just make a thread 'sleep paralysis' you're still going to have people telling you about the demon keeping them trapped on their bed. Those words and their experience don't always make a connection. From time to time we get noobs even in the beyond dreaming trying to tell us about their supernatural experience, which wasn't so special after all.........

The purpose of the FAQ and other stickies has a two fold benefit. Noobs that just want a quick answer can find one. Forum is cleaner for all of us. YAY
