      Awesome Pulling/Flying Feeling While DEILDing

I am a pretty decent LDer and I would call myself very good at DEILD. It seems like whenever I wake up during or right after a dream(during REM) that I am able to DEILD.

Just last night I had probably 5 LDs because of it. So after I realize that I am awake, I keep my eyes shut and think about my past dream. I focus on it and very soon(5 seconds to a minute) I get a feeling as if my whole body is being pulled forward or flying forward. It is a pretty weird and amazing feeling. Most of the time that I do it I keep my eyes shut through the whole thing and most of the time I end up with a LD either in the past dream or in a new environment.

Yesterday I tried opening my eyes during the "pulling/flying feeling" and I wasn't sure if I was in my bed or in a FA. I looked at the clock and the numbers looked as if they were going from 0-9 like super fast so I knew it was a FA.

So, does anyone else get this or even something like this?
Do you open your eyes when you are getting the feeling or after you know you are in a dream?
Why do we get this feeling?

I had this feeling once too, while WILDing, it's awesome. Right after that I found myself in a dream. I don't know why we get it though. But who cares? It's just great!

Yeah, this is a common occurrence. The biggest pool of information on this anomaly would be the "making your body fall asleep" thread. These types of feelings are closely tied to that.

That's what happened in my first DEILD. It was pretty awesome. I just got sucked into a tunnel though, I had a great LD!

Yup, a lot of the time when you are WILDing you will get hypnagogic hallucinations. Mine are usually a gentle falling feeling instead of flying, though!

I enjoyed two DEILDs in the last week.

In one I saw a red blob which turned into I roof, then a birds eye view of a street and then I dropped into it like superman.

Remembering this I tried to visualise a roof the next time I DEILDed.
The red blob got closer until I realised I was looking at a red fish swimming in a transparent water bed. strange

That's how most of my LD's occur -- being pulled off the bed. When that begins I try to relax, keep my eyes closed and slow down my thinking. Usually I find myself on the floor where I can open my eyes and I know I'm in a LD.
