      WILD Help please

Its been awhile since I've been on here, I oddly just became re-interested with lucid dreaming - being able to stay up all night doing whatever you please.

Anyways so I tried a WILD last night and made great progress. I've found out that in my WILD's I do not experience any type of hallucinations of audio or video and that I do not receive any vibrations (at least this time I didn't). What happened was I layed motionless and then after I'd say 15 minutes my limbs and lower torso began to go super numb. I could not feel them at all and I knew that I had at least reached 1/2 sleep paralysis. Everything went great until I remembered that I couldn't remember how to induce a dream. So there I layed motionless, half paralyzed and stuck. So my question is - how can I induce a dream from there and did I accomplish SP???

You're almost there If you were starting to dissociate from your body, you were close to falling asleep. Sleep Paralysis is not necessarily your body going numb. It is, specifically, being unable to move. You can still feel your body, you just can't move it no matter how you struggle.

Entering a dream when you are on the edge of sleep can be tricky. First, make sure you are close to a long REM cycle so you will actually have a dream to transition into. Make sure you WILD late in the night, after a few hours of sleep so you will have a good chance of returning directly to a dream as soon as you fall back to sleep.

Once you have that set, you just need to figure out a way to get your attention away from your body lying in bed, and into a dream scene. You can follow your Hypnagogic imagery into a dream. You can rip your dream body our of your real body OBE style. You can build a dreamscape progressively through visualization. You can create a new dream body for yourself, engaged in a tactile activity. Lots of fun choices. Try whatever appeals to you the most, and gets you the most motivated.

Read through some of the WILD tutorials.

Pay special attention to the last part, where the author describes how they actually transition into the dream. It sounds like you already have the "relax & maintain awareness" part down.

Last night I set my alarm to 6 hours after I went to sleep. I woke up sometime in between that naturally, and it was during an REM stage, so I was fully aware of the dream I had just exited. So I stayed up for a bit, ate a chocolate bar, streched, and then finally decided to try WILDing. After a while of lying in bed counting my exhales I started to notice my HI becoming increasingly long and more like dream scenes, but I didn't focus on them, they just happened. Then all of the sudden a very warm feeling came over my entire body, and then all I could feel was my stomach rising and faling.. I think this is what happened to the OP. I've never experienced this before, and it was kind of exciting... and after a while nothing happened and the warmness faded and I got a little discouraged. But I continued lying motionless for a while longer, but not after too long I started feeling uncomfortable and had to move, and I gave up.

But now I vaguely remember, sometime after this, shortly entering a lucid dream from one HI I had. But I remember it only lasting a few seconds..

So what did I do wrong? Was I impatient when I became discouraged? Was I too aware and should not wake up as much prior to trying again?
