      my 3 tips

1.before sleep, read just about your LD's in your DJ, even if they didn't happen recently, skim over the nonlucids just so you have a general idea of what they were

      2. an efficient way to recognize an FA is all about seeing how your body feels. If you wake up for real it will feel different, at least it does with me, especially in the chest/torso area, and if you wake up and you feel exactly the same, no "state change" so to speak - FA.

      3. tell people via IM or RL you are going to go to LD prior to sleep. The goodnight thread wasn't as effective in my case since essentialy you are shouting stuff "to the street", while in IM you are specifically obligating yourself to LD in front of a specific person
TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus
      TOTAL LD's (almost all DILD/MILD) =160!!

I already do #1, and I believe it works because when you remember your dreams, whether by memory or by reviewing your DJ, it activates the part of the brain responsible for dream memories, which is significantly different than the part that remembers waking memories. As a result, you're in a state to engage anything to do with dreams.

#3 presents itself as some sort of forced auto-suggestion...no explanation necessary there.
