      Recurring cycle: Dream(?)-Sleep Paralysis-WILD(almost)

      Hi

I will try to make this message not too long and stick to my questions.

For quite some time now I've been reading the forums on Dreamviews. I've been able to get LDs all my life. Some months ago I decided to perfect this skill. My dreamrecall has always been EXCELLENT, but LDs occur spontaniously (although usually at least once a week).

I discovered that WILD is like the holy grail of LDing, so I focussed on that.
I'm practicing WILD now and it worked a few times.

But here is the "problem" I run into:
I try to stay conscious, but I partly loose that. I dream then, or at least I see images. I remember to stay conscious (usually because some kind of light seems to pop up in the corner of my "eyesight")and I see the blackness behind my eyes. That's when the sleeping paralysis rollercoaster begins, which I experience fully conscious. During the SP-ride I try to construct an image I can enter, knowing I will go into dream mode. Sometimes I try to will my dream body to get up.
But I cannot get into the dreamstate. I get conscious more and more and just wake up!!
      What am I doing wrong?

It only worked three times, to go from the SP-thrill into a dream. All the other times (which are many) I was able to experience SP, but couldn't get beyond that.

      Do you recognize this cycle?

      Can you help me?

Well, I know that if you try to create a scene, this causes you to lose almost all chances of WILDing. Don't ask why. You have to focus vigilantly but passively on the imagery.

From what I've heard, the WILD is more difficult if you try to enter the dream actively. As in, trying to create the scene on your own.

On your next attempt, try to remain passive during sleep paralysis. Take the backseat, just ride the SP rollercoaster. You'll still end up in the dream(if you remain conscious) and you can go wherever you please from there.

      Thanks Higurashi.

I actually tried it this afternoon. It worked a lot better!!

TV screens litterally popped up in that red/dark space i was "floating" in. So i had choices. Actually getting in was rather difficult somehow. Maybe practice more?

Cool, sounds like it's getting easier.

I might be interpreting this wrong, but do you mean that there were scenes in the tv screens and you tried to enter one of them? How lucky, I just have to take the scene I'm given, which is usually my bedroom

Practice will definitely make it easier. I'm sure you'll be WILDing in no time

Sleep too little for one night. Then in the night after that, WILD/do the same thing.
