      Techniques When Napping

Does anyone have any tips for me for inducing while napping? WILD never works for me (I just end up falling asleep - well, realise I fell asleep - but I do remember dreams from the nap), and I've tried other things like moving my fingers but my fingers get tired before I fall asleep! The naps I'm talking about are normally in the afternoon, about 8 hours since I actually got up (I sometimes nap when I get home from school). Any more ideas?

I usually have a ton of LDs when I'm napping, some of them are WILDs and some of them I just fall asleep and have LDs. Here's my suggestion if you are having trouble staying conscious/awake when trying to WILD...drink something with ALOT of caffeine (or take a caffeine pill?), like a few cups of coffee or some Mt. Dews...red bull...etc. It might take a little longer to fall into a dream state but you will be more conscious once you do. That's how I had my first LDs, I was napping during the day...I would take pills with caffeine in them and go to class, then come home and nap and have LDs without even trying. I dunno how much it will help, but it's worth giving it a shot I guess.

I was reading in Greys Anatomy about the Pineal gland, which produces Melatonin. It's larger in kids than adults, and larger in females. (

Lucidinia must really have a big one!)

Anyway, it produces less and less Melatonin as we age. Initially its hollow, and becomes solid with crystaline substance which is referred to as " brain sand".

Oliver Fox, an early OOBE'er, and others make a correlation with the Pineal and the "Third Eye" and say it is the source of OBE's and perhaps Lucid Dreaming? Of course there's exceptions to every rule, as with Robert Monroe, but...seems the ability to Lucid Dream and attaining the Out of Body favors youth.

      Comments?
If physicists say that matter is frozen light, and Stars symbolize both angels and people alike in the bible, then what does that make you?(angel)?

Gosh NobleGaz...you are so smart....all your posts are so enlightening. What do you do for a living? How do you know all of this?

As far as the caffeine goes, depends on how to take it I guess (whether you drink coffe or take pills i dunno)....I would take caffeine pills and then go to class and then come home after about an hour and take an in-between class nap and LD my ass off hehe. So I'd say like an hour to let it sink in fully. I know I shouldnt be condoning the use of drugs, but it's worked for me, so I'll leave it up to your guy's best judgements as to whether or not to try it ...oh and FWI the amount of caffeine I was ingesting was 150 mg, I believe...which is like what, three cups of coffee? I'm not sure.

a cup of coffee is about 90mg, I think.
