How long do you keep your DJ?

i was wandering, do you have to keep a DJ forever. or once you can get lucids often can you not keep one, or does your ability fade?

It really would be best if you kept it indefinitely. It records your dream signs, it's a great tool for recall, and in my opinion, is the best resource any lucid dreamer should have.

When I first started LDing, almost a year ago, I kept one and updated it every night. After about 3 months, I stopped using it as much. Bang, there went my ability to LD. Bang, there went my recall. I started using it again 3 days ago, and last night I remembered 4 dreams, and woke up and updated my dream journal after each dream. It really helps. Plus, it's fun to look back at dreams that you would have otherwise forgotten about. Flipping through mine yesterday, I got the pleasant surprise when I read "...and that's why I was doing yoga with Elvis"

For all the trouble it can be updating it, it's worth it.

That would be the #1 reason that I would keep a DJ, to look back on previous dreams and remember them
