      Question Visualization

Since I've started trying to LD, I haven't yet been able to fully control a dream, but there are first promising results; I had 3 DILD experiences where I instantly lost control and woke up, and 1 almost successful WILD, and my dream recall has increased strongly.

However, I have a problem when it comes to visualizations: When I imagine a scene, I tend to view myself from a third person perspective, like in many 3D computer role-playing games. I have a hard time imagining myself "into" my body. At least, I am able to look at an imagined scene out of my eyes, but then I have to artificially think about where my arms should be and try to "make them be there"... This makes it hard to stabilize a scene and makes V-WILD techniques very difficult. Visualizing myself in a scene from the outside is much easier, but this does not grant an immersion good enough for initiating a LD.
Do you have any hints on how to make this easier, or to train the visualization inside one's own body?

Hi, DVRM! Yeah, I've had this happen before. The best thing to realize is that there is no dream bosy, you are not seeing out of dream eyes, everything is just a manifestation of unconcious thoughts.

Once you realize that within a dream, it may make it easier to conjure up an avatar.

At any rate, oftentimes when people try 'imagine things' or concentrate on doing an action, it fails miserably. Example, if you concentrate really hardand keep imagining that your arm is going to move, will it? No. You just... move your arm. No other way to explain it, really, without getting into scientific reasons.
It's the same in a dream. You want to have a dream arm, don't spend all your energy to visualize one. Just move your dream body. Move your dream-self using the same mental commands that you would use to move your arm in waking life.

      Hope I could help.

It's also possible to have a third-person dream, and then kind of make your way into a dream body to give that 1st-person experience we're more accustomed to. You may be able to just induce them in the third person, and then find ways to actually tell yourself, "No, I'm in a body." or "I'm going to float into that body."

Yeah, just as Shift said. 3rd person dreams are NOT rare at all. In fact, many dreamers here have them. I've had a few myself; some where I'm not even myself! It's pretty bizarre. BUT, the good news is that you can get lucid while third person (definitely!), but you just gotta take an extra step to get first person in that LD.

hThat would be fun, Shift. Floating into someone elses body!

Or, one could just embrace the 3rd person and try to have a dream where you observe a DC habitat and act like a god by passively screwing with them from above.

That would be kind of cool. Controlling multiple DC's at once, like a board game.
