      *Sigh* ..WILD help ...please :'(.

I had probably been laying there for about 30 minutes already ...and then I got these vibrations ...and then they were gone ...I'm not sure if they startled me enough to accidently wake my body up again ...but nothing ever happens for me after that ...

I get confused because after so many attempts I've realized that I don't get images ...or sounds ...so I just have to focus on what I'm feeling ...what usually happens is my mind kinda wanders ..but then I'm brought back to awareness from vibrations ...and then I don't know what to do after that ....I guess my body feels heavy but that's about it ...I still feel the pillow ..the bed ...the air from the fan ...and I still feel the outside world ...like if I opened my eyes at that very moment I would just be in bed ...and that's exactly what happened ...so did the vibrations scare me and ruin the process, or am I supposed to do something else after I feel them?
      Lucid dreams, gotta love em.

Hey elucive! Good to meet you.

Well, I've had this exact same problem. I totally know what you mean with the being in your bed still thing. And I don't get HI, (images or hallucinations,) either. The vibrations may be the first stages of sleep paralysis, if so relax and let it happen. This is a new phase you haven't attained. Otherwise, it may be the 'jolt' into the dream world that many WILDers get. It's as if there is a sudden thing that alerts a WILDer into knowing that they are about to enter their dream and for some this is the small window of opportunity.

During this vibrations, if it isn't sleep paralysis, I know of two things that you can try. Try rolling over and visualizing something- in which case you will either have moved your dream body and are now immersed into the WILD or you will have spoiled your WILD by actually rolling over. It's an all or nothing gamble, but often can pay off. Another thing is try, ever so slightly, moving your fingers. Read up on the fild, as it can help with the traditional WILD.

Hope this helps. Good luck with the WILDing.

Think of the vibrations as a sign that you are on the right track, but not quite there yet. A typical WILD, for me, has several rounds of vibrations. Don't get frustrated or give up if you wake up after some vibrations or hypnagogia. Just relax, and continue doing what you were doing. Typically, you can get back to the same place faster than before.

This is a very common problem. Clairity's guide had a good explanation of what to do from this state:

A lot of people when they first start out using WILD enconunter the same problems as you have. This is not some thing to be worried about because it has made you ask the question which is bringing you one step closer to the answer.

A lot of people tend to force there minds to focus on no thoguhts, and this for the starter is rather hard, they do not realise that this excess concentration is actually keeping them awake.

The trick is to relax and jut to notice, not to focus, it is to notice.

As your body falls asleep you will go through a lot of different stages, as you progress soon your mind starts to wander and you start to see images and hear sounds without actually realising it. Then before you know it you are asleep and dream or worse, awake and cant remember a thing.

The trick is to relax and just to notice, not to focus, it is to notice.

Notice the feelings of your body falling asleep, how does it feel, how do your thoughts wander, how does your chest feel , how long is it inbetween breaths when youare not controling your breathing, you might be surpised.

as you notice your body and mind falling asleep you will relax, as your relax and you keep your mind noticing you are letting your body fall asleep as it normally does by you not getting in the way then comes the fun bit.

      The images and sounds.

AS they kick in you know you are getting closer, soon the vibrations kick in and before you know it you will be heading towards a dream, as you notice these sensations you will move away from the awake worldand into the dreaming one.

So maybe I should reword what I have written twice above, do not force your self to focus because you will jsut get in the way. Instead just notice how your mind and body falls asleep above all else and in its own right you will focus in a more natural way, without this forced tension which will only keep you awake.

Remeber it can and wil take a while, but then again, where and what else do you have planned ? You will fall asleep if you let your self and to be honest, you have all night what do you have to lose if you just go with the flow>

      Hey elucive,

the funny thing is, you may already have been 'there'.

I had almost the same thing happen last week with my second WILD. I got vibrations while I still felt my body in bed, no pictures or anything else. I just let the vibrations pass, and afterwards I just rolled out of my body and was in a lucid dream in a totally different room.

The point is, the body felt exactly the same before and after the vibrations, yet the transition from physical body to dream body had already been made.
Just use the vibrations as an indicator, let them vanish, and try to roll out to the side, even if it still feels like you are using your physical body. For me it worked and you were definitely very close!!

Good luck and keep us up about your progress
