      Troubles Breathing!

      Hey,

Sometimes when I try to WILD it and seems it's one of the times where I'm close to success, I'll have serious troubles breathing. It seems I don't inhale enough oxygen no matter how deep a breathe I take, and after about 10-15 minutes of this I call it quits because it's too uncomfortable.

Anyone know what this is or got any tips?

when I read the topic I thought "sleep apnea"

but now that you mentioned WILD i thought ohhh... yeah i had that everytime I experience sleep paralysis.

reason is that you can't control your body during sleep paralysis so your basically set on auto-pilot even though your very concious.

so if you can control your breathing, your not experienceing WILD. it's normal.

      ^ is not true.

One of the hallucinations that people can get during SP is that they're having trouble breathing. If this happens to you, you're most likely breathing normally (unless you have some other sleep disorder), and should just try to ignore it. If it's a hallucination from SP, that means you're almost there.

so if you can control your breathing, your not experienceing WILD. it's normal.
      ??? what?

      Ignore that.

I can control my breathing while in SP and I can control it while in a WILD too.

what? i can't control it. well it just seems like i'm not the one doing the breathing anyway. like i feel like i need to take a deep breath and my lungs wont cooperate with me. it would just continue to breath normally.

well ok, i thought it was normal but i guess not but i thought i heard it from someone else too.

i'm sorry if i mislead anyone.

I would suggest just staying calm. As Shift said, you are most likely breathing normally, so this should not cause much concern. Of course, if you are attempting to WILD while on your stomach, it could be this pressure that gives you the out of breath feeling.

I have a somewhat similar problem. Normally when I feel as though I'm about to succeed, I suddenly become very nausiated as if I'm going to throw up. It's very irritating, and I can't figure out if I'm just hallucinating or not.

Ah yes, I get this breathing trouble thing.

It can be quite scary, and very annoying. When I notice that I'm "not breathing" my brain suddenly jolts on and then I start breathing deeply.

well i didnt have the "not breathing" problem, just slowed auto-pilot breathing. i didnt think it was worth to be concerning. it just feels weird that i havent been able to control it during these phases.

ahh i get this too! extremely annoying. Everytime i get half-way SP,i start to feel like ive stopped breathing an i force myself to take a deep breath and sp goes away completely Like shift said I've found the best way to get past this is to ignore it :/ (never realized it was a hallucination though @_@)

      Thanks for the great replies.

I try to WILD lying on my back, so it's not pressure from lying on my stomache.

You guys are right, it may just be a hallucination. Sometimes I wake up from a failed WILD attempt to difficulties breathing (I've never had any sort of breathing troubles until attempting these), and seems no matter how deep a breathe I take, it's not enough.

Any tips on how to continue? Simply ignoring it doesn't do me any good, as I find I'm gasping for air, it's not a simple uncomfort or pain I can just ignore.
