Weird SP sitation; somebody clarify for me?

I was napping today after school, from about 2:00 to 4:45. I only wanted to nap (initially) for about an hour, but I just gave up and slept it out.

So I'm on my couch, and I'm having a very pleasant sleep. I woke up about twice in all, each time, very refreshed and just had a great feeling. I don't know why; I just did.

Anyway, one time I woke up, I noticed that I had not moved upon waking up, and I was still very exhausted....so I should try to get into SP. I figured "hey, it's bright in here, everybody is home, it won't be scary. lets do it". So I started to, and I closed my eyes and very quickly felt the extreme tumbling sensation. I was being thrown around. I was thinkign "okay, a little more, and maybe I'll just back out. no big deal". I went to go back out, but I couldn't. SP had won already. My eyes were open, and I could not move. I remember that I felt like I couldn't breathe either, but I knew it was just a feeling....and that I really could. I also remember thinking "shit, this is it. where are the horrible hallucinations?", and upon not seeing any, I calmed down, closed my eyes, and tried to slip into a dream...but one didn't come, and I woke up for good right after coming out of SP.

I'm REALLY hoping I was in SP while awake, because I've been very nervous to do it for the longest time....and what better way to do something your hesitant to if you ACCIDENTALLY do it, right? The only thing is, I think it might have been a flase awakening; I felt like I was SHAKING while in SP, like my eyes were going back and forth. I wasn't still; almost like convulsions....they weren't obviously. Thats the only thing that I could relate it to.

Can somebody throw their 2 cents in here for me? I know what SP is....I just wanna know whether it sounded like if I was awake or not while I was in it. Could I have been dreaming of being in SP? The "convulsing" feeling doesn't match any other SP stories....

      AP?

Horrible hallucinations are not a required part of passing through the SP state. The hypnogogic state on the far side can as easily be weirdly pleasant.

Or maybe you got into SP, and then entered a dream without even realizing?

You said you were waiting for a dream to come, how do you know you were not already in one? That's a mistake I made when was trying to WILD for the first few times.
I was going through SP, and then I started seeing through my eyelids. I thought this is an effect of SP, but when I woke up I remembered a guy saying that if you can do that, you must be dreaming (Nick Newport, or whatever his name is.)

And if you couldn't move, or move very hardly, that doesn't mean that you weren't dreaming. I sometimes find it really hard to move when my WILD starts.

Using an Astral Projection technique might help you into an LD, even if you don't believe in APs.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yellowlight, that could be what I was experiencing. Everything I experienced was exatly like I read SP was supposed to be like, except the intense "shaking" I felt from my peripherals. Almost like a television screen shaking.

Hmmm....well if SP is exactly like I experienced, it's not so bad.

Tyler asked his question in this forum, not in the BD section. And shaking is a hallmark sign of impending AP. I would be derelict in my duty as a respondant to not mention that. Both LD and AP are both known outcomes of the same SP achieved by WILD.

You may doubt the reality of the experience of AP. But skeptics of AP say that it is incompletely lucid dreaming. So therefore even assuming it were false it would still be LD, and thus belong anywhere on the forums, as long as it is only considered an *experience* without discussions of it's reality. And I didn't try to discuss it's reality with Tyler.

Beyond Dreaming has now been officially given as a home of trolls and trolling. No worthwhile discussion on the subject of paranormal dreaming will ever occur there again, and those trolls will be very hungry when they start to realize that no one will feed them the arguments they really wanted.

So go find a bridge to hide under, and wait for some billygoats ... Your posts in the new BD section show that's what you really want.

Thank you for your kind answer. BUT, for your information, I really don't want to hide under a bridge and wait for billygoats. Perhaps you do? I think we should stop this conversation, maybe you've noticed that we're hijacking this guy's thread.

And about Beyond Dreaming... It has been given us permission to debate, and I wouldn't call debating, trolling. If you want a place where you can discuss paranormal stuff, go to the Deep Dreaming forum.

      Thank you.

Can't we all just get along? We all share the same interest that is lucid dreaming. I don't wanna talk about billygoats unless it was in a dream

Anyway almost everytime I experience sleep paralysis, I get those intense numbing or the feeling of falling just after shutting my eyes. Or sometimes I get the SP after those feelings. Whether or not I think my eyes or open, i don't know that can be discussed here:

Thank you for your opinions, YellowLight and Starry Eyes, I think both your points have been crossed. There is no need for argument here.
Take it to PM, or start your own thread.

I'm thinking it was just a dream. My eyes were open.....typically they're closed. Eh, whatever I guess. One day I'll get the balls to try SP haha. Thanks for the replies.
