      Tattoos for RC

I somewhat recently got a tattoo (chestpiece of a Boeing 747) and was wondering if anyone here has a tattoo that they have used for RCs? I mean, I figure that if I look at my chest in a dream and it doesn't look right it would trigger a lucid dream, but also I believe that it'd be possible that if one has had a tattoo for a really long time and they've seen it many many times that it would look relatively accurate after a while.

I'm gonna try this with my tat, but I really haven't got anything down pat when it comes to this stuff. I'm not really new to DV, I was into this a long time ago and kinda dropped it for a while, but I'm trying to start fresh now.

Anyway, anyone that has a tattoo jump in here.

Thought about it, but I think I'm going to give it another couple years before I officially decide.

I've read two things on this site about tattoos:

      1. Mainly, some people are stupid enough to consider getting tattoos JUST to RC
      2. One guy who has a lot of them said they changed a lot in his dreams and that he had used them to become lucid.

      1.
      2. That's interesting. I was thinking after I typed the first post that we see our hands a lot everyday, and they still seem different/strange in dreams quite frequently, so I guess tattoos could be the same way. No matter how often one sees his/her own tattoo, it may show up differently regardless.

Anyone with a tattoo have any thoughts?

i have one on the inside of my forearm that i've had for a while but is always different in dreams. it's a pretty obvious dreamsign, and sometimes i have new ones in a dream. nobody should get a tattoo just for doing a RC... i am planning on making a new design in a lucid though, one that would wrap around my upper arm which would be hard to draw but hopefully easier to figure out in a lucid. and then you can see it on yourself before you make the decision, too.

Interesting, I'll have to start looking at my tattoo for RCs

And I really like that idea of designing a tattoo in a lucid, very cool

A friend of mine has a tattoo that says "dream?"

I love it and am thinking about getting a similar one. Will wait a while though.

Apparently it always looks odd in dreams.

I have a tattoo on my right arm, but now that you mention it I've never seen it in a dream! Didn't realize this until now haha

that's such a cool idea. I had never though of that. I wouldn't get a tattoo just for a RC......or just because; i'm too little lmao it'd look so lame on me. But it sounds perfect for lucid dreamers.

Haha, you should let me know how it goes if you use it for RCs, I'm very interested in using this technique. BTW what do you have?

I'm pretty small too, I only weigh 125 ish, haha, I think chestpieces look good on pretty much anyone. If the chestpiece itself looks good that is.

Yeah, good point. Thats around my weight too; in between 125-130. I always wished I could get a tatoo on my arm, but I lack big arms so its a toughy.

Anyway, back on topic....I guess any type of body art can do this.....even piercings. Maybe not ear piercings though (since you can't see them?)

Even if you had big arms, wouldn't they one day become old and flabby?

IMO stuff like new school tattoos look good on little people. If you want like a tribal thing or armband, yeah, they look better on big arms.
And I think that if you have a piercing on your face, looking in a mirror is enough of a RC as is.. so there's probably no point.

I think tattoos look cool on old people, even if they're blurry and faded.

Yeah, it's true....but perhaps at one point of their life, the tattoo looked great.
