New Method of Initiation - RILD

I'd like to introduce a simple method that I have created that has helped me many times, the:

      Repetition
      Initiated
      Lucid
      Dream

Now some of you might have an idea of how this works already, but let me give you a quick fact. I have achieved 3 lucid dreams from this method since I recently started it.

"Recently?" you might ask to yourself. "What could he mean by recently?" For some of you, recently is 1 minute. Perhaps a few days ago, maybe even a month, depending on the context. Just like you, I'm using it depending on the context. Now I have many different definitions of recently, but when I use it here, I mean 3 days ago. Yes, you read right. Quick overview of stats:

Number of lucid dreams using method: 3
Number of days using method: 3

That's right. 3 successful lucid dreams since starting this method. That means that this method has worked for me every day. For some of you, this method might work for you after days of trying. Then for others, maybe not at all. This method is not for everyone, as though I mentioned earlier it is simple, it requires focus before the moment one falls asleep. Here's my setup:

I like to sleep on my side. This is just preferably to comfort. However, there are times, including during this method, that I just absolutely have to lie on my back and stare at the ceiling. This is step one of a RILD. This means having a small desk light turned to the ceiling so I have enough light to stare at the ceiling. But why, do you ask, would you need light? The answer to that is simple, to see the sign. What sign? Using an 8.5x11 inch piece of paper (or whatever the standard size is where you live) in landscape (wider than it is tall), I wrote the words Reality Check in block letters. I taped it to my ceiling so I'd be staring right at it. Reality is above Check for obvious reasons, but here's a little thing. I wrote the word Check a fraction larger then the word Reality for two reasons. Reason one: It has less letters, so why make it the same size as Reality (not the main reason). However, the more important reason is a little subconscious trick, reason two: While in a dream, you perform reality checks. The keyword here is check. Yes, you do "check" to see whether it is reality or not, but without the action of "checking", you wouldn't be able to tell. In the action of a reality check, to check is more important than the fact that you are in reality or not. Because dreaming is merely subconscious, this influences your brain, while sleeping, with the word check over the word reality.

But where does repetition come into step one? I stare at this sign for minutes upon minutes, thus repeating the action of implanting the word check into my subconscious brain.

Now, for step two. When I'm done looking at this sign, I turn off the light. I then repeat the words "reality check" for around a minute. Simple, almost nothing at all, but again, if you constantly repeat something before the moment you fall asleep, it stays in your subconscious while you are asleep. This aids the process of attaining lucidity.

So now you have seen two steps of the RILD. Currently these are all the steps I have, but I look forward to adding more.

Note: As I mentioned before, the subconscious will take in anything that happened right before falling asleep. Out of the three lucid dreams, one has been spontaneous- I instantly realized I was dreaming when I started dreaming? Want to know what I said in my dream when it started? For some reason I kept repeating the words "reality check" over and over so without even doing one I knew I was lucid because of repetition to my subconscious .

Good luck with this new method, the RILD.

      Interesting idea.

It sounds similar to a visualization or a mnemonic technique, except you're physically putting it there in front of you, which i believe might increase the affirmation in your mind.

Not very difficult either. I'll try it tonight and comment

It seems to be a good idea and i will try it tonight for sure.
Even if it is simalar to another induction method, it is still a bit different and might work very well for some people.
      I like it!

This is not a new method. This is a MILD.

I'd rather not have misinformation here, so I'm locking this thread.
