      woohoo who'da thunk it......

So I've been reading around in threads and such to find out different things to do to increase my chances of dreaming lucidly or at least to start remembering my dreams...... And I saw a lot of people talking about how when they stopped smoking pot they remembered more of their dreams.

Of course, while reading this I was like......whhoooaaa no wayyyy man, it couldn't possibly have an impact on that (damn I'm a burnout...

But yeah, I tried it... didn't smoke yesterday and this morning I remebered parts, not all, but at least some, of a couple of my dreams..... which hasn't happened in like a month.....hmmmm maybe it's time to lay off the sauce

Yup, I just cut back, only smoke once or twice a week now and I remember more dreams now. I used to smoke every day and could still remember at least one dream a night, but now during the day I keep remembering things I thought had happened but once I think about them they turn out to be dreams I had last night. It's great.

Though meditating or laying in bed watching and forming hypnagogic imagery while stoned is still quite fascinating.

Alcohol will ruin your lucidity. Think of it this way, if it dulls your thoughts while awake, think how hard it will be for you to recognize you are dreaming while under the influence.

I've found that limiting myself to a glass of wine a night helps my lucidity a lot. Any more than that and I will have the most vivid dreams and sleep like a rock, but no lucidity.

nightowl and squall ...... yeah, cigarettes are gross..... but even so, they don't affect lucid dreaming do they?

It is amazing the difference cutting back has made actually. I work and go to school during the day so usually wouldn't smoke till night time anyway.... now instead I just don't for the day if I haven't for most of it already..... and it seems like if I don't go to bed fried, my chances for lucidity are 100 percent better.

It also seems to have helped with allowing me to wake up directly after a dream, I woke up at least 5 times last night.... each time making a new entry in the journal I have started keeping next to my bed....

I remembered those dreams this morning when I woke up also....

And Seeker, actually I don't drink.... by laying off the sauce I meant cutting back on the pot, which is the only drug I indulge in..... but I have drank, and can see how this would have a horrible affect on your ability to dream lucidly.... or do anything that requires great concentration of the mind for that matter.

      Thanks for the feedback all
