      Is it premature?

While I have not successfully attained purposeful lucidity yet, I have experienced lucidity a couple of times before. It seems like when I realize it, I have only a couple of seconds before I wake up. But when I wake up it is close to the same time as when I normally wake up in the morning, so my question is: Does premature awakening mean that you wake up in the middle of the night, or do you simply stop dreaming until the time that you normally wake up?

You probably become lucid right at the end of your last dream. This happens to me all the time, too. We have this subconscious knowledge of exactly when we want to wake up. For example, you can tell yourself before you go to sleep at night, "I want to wake up at 6:00am." Bam! You wake up at 6:02. Maybe when our brains tell us to wake up, it also kicks on some lucidity?

Do you ever have those dreams where you are aware of your body in bed during the last few seconds or minutes? Some outside noise manifests in your dream, or you know you are going to wake up, even though you don't really know it is a dream? It could be a similar thing.
