      Funny feeling

In my first (and only, so far) lucid dream, my dream started out in third person. However, when I realized I was dreaming, I was sort of sucked into my body, as in the body that was occupying my dream, and I began to experience the dream in first person. I can't describe the feeling, but it felt very real, sort of the feeling you imagine you get when you shrink down to a fraction of your normal size, and it definitely wasn't very pleasant. Usually, I am not an active participant in my non-lucid dreams; I am typically a spectator viewing a sort of movie (close-ups and panning included; I guess my mind wants to be a director) that has absolutely nothing to do with me, and doesn't have any characters that I would associate with my friends in real life. I would say about 80% of my dreams are usually these "movie" dreams. Does anyone else get this feeling when they lucid dream?

Incidentally, my lucid dream turned into a nightmare afterwards. I could exercise no control of my body, although I was fully aware that I was dreaming. The characters in my dream got loud and crowded me, as if trying to keep me from waking up, which was all I wanted to do at the point. My first attempt to wrench my eyes open was futile; I actually attempted to open them, but it was as if someone glued them shut. The second time, my eyes snapped open, and I realized that it was my first lucid dream.

Does anyone else have these type of problems; trouble waking up, or hostile characters in their dreams? And how do I get rid of them?

Easiest way to get rid of them is kill them, but if you were having trouble w/ control of your dream (which is common in your first few LDs) then try this... Close your dream eyes and pretend they aren't there. Ignore them calmly and act like they don't exist. Once you do that, poof! They will no longer exist. Remember your entire dream is all in your head. You were probably a little skiddish or fearful in your first LD, which is common, so your dream became fearful It happens, just keep practicing! Good Luck!

Believe me, not being able to wake up isn't a problem. Most people have the problem where they can't stay asleep. The only time you should want to wake up, is if you really want to remember something and you are worried if you don't wake up you will forget.

So the trouble isn't waking up, but getting rid of the hostile people. I would suggest dealing with it like a nightmare. Tell yourself its just a dream and it can not hurt you. As long as you are able to say that to yourself, there is nothing to worry about within dreams.
