      Do the hours matter?

It seem like trying WBTB after 5 and 6 hours makes it impossible to sleep.
I was wondering since REM kicks in every 90 minutes (and sure it gets longer in the later periods and vivider) but has anybody successfully had a Ld trying wbtb after 4 or 3 maybe even less hours of sleep was it inferior to the normal 6 hours?

I find it easier to fall asleep when I WBTB like 3-4 hours into my sleep. 5-6 is too much for me. I still have vivid, even lucid dreams when I WBTB 3-4 hours into my sleep. It is easier for me.

REM periods vary from person to person. You will just have to experiemnt with it and find your own REM periods. I start my REM sleep after only 2 hours of sleep. For others it can take up to 6 hours. I would suggest setting an alarm in 2 hour increments throughout the night for a few nights. Each time you awake, see if you have dreamed. If you have dreamed already, then you have slept a sufficient amount of time for using a WBTB technique. Good Luck!
