If the cheese hasn't moved why would you look for it else where? |

The subconcious is not interested in what the concious mind wants. If it did I'd be a very happy man by now... |

I've been having the same problem. I started trying to lucid dream a week ago (I've always been very prone to lucid dreams without even trying), two of the first three nights I had very short lucid dreams, since then I've barely been able to remember any dreams at all (which is not usual for me). |

Try to use reality checks that cultivate the mental qualities that you wish to have in your dream. The challenge in traditional reality checks is that they can become mindless and habitual on a physical level. You might look at your hands but not become lucid b/c for some individuals you need to do something differently. You can for instance ask your self questions that require thinking or analyzing your short term memory to distinguish what dream of reality your in. For instance you might ask your self when did I wake up? When did I go to bed? Based on my answers & what is happening now which dream or state of reality am I in?/Am I dreaming? |

Thanks for your good advice. When I used to lucid dream without trying it was usually because I realized the circumstances were unrealistic so it might help me more to use reality checks like you are suggesting as opposed to looking at my hands, and plugging my nose, which is what I have been doing. |

Stress is a main factor. Don't get upset about not having any dreams. This will raise you're stress level. Just, chill out, and relax! It's not like you are going to die in a week or something, most of us have alot of time! Being worried and stuff only make things more difficult for you. |

When it comes to reality checks, quality is better than quantity (though for best results, have both!). |
