      Need a little help!

So, like more people around here, I've been having a little difficulty with actually attaining Lucidity.

My dream recall has been amazing lately! I've been using some Aids, as applejuice, Vitamin B, and Valerian Root, and I've been remembering dreams very vividly. Now, my problem is, I've been trying to Lucid Dream for about 2 months, yet I still havent attained Lucidity.

I'm wondering what my next step should be. I've been trying WILD/WBTB, and MILD before I go to sleep. I just can't seem to be aware enough in my dream to get lucid somehow.

What should my next move be?

Looks like we're all in the same boat.

Have you been doing reality checks?

Well there's no magic bullet, at least I don't think so. But what I've found works for me?

I use a digital watch to remind me to do an R.C every hour on the hour, although i don't get lucid that often, I beleive it does help.

NAPS. not just any old nap. Take a couple of deep breaths, put in some earplugs and don an eyemask (I do this because I know that anything I see or hear will be a dream) and lay back on a couch or your bed comfortably. Just lay there, listen to your inner sounds, your breathing, soon enough you'll wake up in sleep paralysis (you'll know very well when this happens..there's no doubting) and continuing with whatever sensations you're feeling, you'll slip into a dream. Don't stress too much about moving, or doing a WILD perfectly, just experiment. Honestly, this probably won't work for a few times, but eventually I'm sure it will. Try to place your nap/ dream-time in the middle of the day so you're more aware. Also, think of it as an adventure into your own head, not as "I need to get lucid, this is frustrating". My mindset is: "I'm going to lay down and explore what my mind has to offer for an hour or two..I am in control, I am aware".

I suggest you continue dream journaling as best you can, this is key, keep playing with your supplements (but know that your mind is still perfectly capable without them), I've been following your progress there, I take some too, and just enjoy whatever you can. Focus on your-non-lucid dreams and soon enough, by becoming so familiar with them, and re-reading them, you will indeed realize your dreaming.

Don't give up! And don't stress.. enjoy the trip to awareness.

As a side note, I just purchased a REMdreamer, a machine designed to signal you as you dream in REM sleep, it senses the eye movement. I'll try to keep you up to speed on my progress with that. Should arrive in a week or so. I had an older version and had some interesting results. If you shouldn't find success, it might be a worthwhile investment. That's a whole other subject though.

Best of luck and perseverance..it can be done!
