      Hypnopompic halucinations and reality switching

      Hi all,

Last night (and this mourning) was interesting. I had quite afew partial awakenings and experienced hypnopompic imagery. It was cool, the things in my room takeing on various shapes .etc.

So i started playing with my sleep state, going into and then out of lucidity and even awakeness. I think it is good practice for anyone not able to DEILD easily.

I had my eyes open for the most part, but not really seeing the things around me clearly.

Wakeing halucinations, a step toward LD's or the next step after Lucid dreaming?

      Peace,

      FunK

No thoughts on reality switching?? i think this is a really good way to learn to LD, play with the dreamstate, like waves on a beach, lucid -> wake -> HH -> dream -> lucid - repeat.

Helps if you use REM rebound to be in a realy suggestive state.

      Keen to hear comments.

Wow, that IS incredible, I've never heard of someone doing this intentionally, but I've seen it happen unintentionally. And yes, I suppose that would be good practice for WILD and DEILD.

Well i used to LD years ago,

Had some amazing experiences before i really knew alot about lucid dreaming. From memory i used to get good results from amphetamines (the medication kind like dexamphetamines), and Sleep dep.

Have been struggling to LD since joining this forum 6 months ago. My problem is im on anti-psych medication and it seems to just knock me out cold.

Im getting there though, lots of realy intense "normal" dreams, which is enough to keep me working on my dream state.

The above occured to me after a big binge drinking spree, and the subsequent sleep-in and REM rebound.

Maybe i should try absinth, its supposed to be a halucinogen.

      Stay lucid,

      FunK

I think I know what you mean. I find it easier to get back into a LD after I already had one. Like, consecutively. And what you said about the things in your room taking shape, that happened to me too. My friend was laying down on a couch and when I woke up my sheets were in the same shape as her body laying down.

      Hypnagogs are cool.

Last night (this morning?) I had one where the dream scene I was visualizing started spinning around in front of me. It was so vivid that I thought I had transitioned into a lucid dream, but alas, just hypnagogic imagery. So close.
