Is this sleep paralysis? And what do I do with it?

Last night I took some galantamine and after almost dozing off I became aware of what seemed to be intense vibrations and loud ringing noises. I lay there. Then I thought, "Okay, is this it? I need to transition from this into a lucid dream."

I lay there and kind of tried to hold on, tried to visualise myself becoming lucid. And then I woke up. But then I had dreams. So I have a suspicion it may have been a false awakening.

I have experienced this quite often previously when I had been trying to do the whole lucid dreaming thing.

IS is this sleep paralysis? And if it is, how do I transition it to a lucid dream?

If there were intense vibrations and loud ringing noises, you were transitioning into a wild. Not sure what happened after that though.
And now.. for a Stephen Strutmeyer Film...

What you did wrong was not doing a reality check when you "woke up". Don't let a false awakening fool you next time!
Consciousness: that annoying time between naps.

Honestly to me, sounds a lot like a False Awakening, Next time you just 'Wake Up' don't just lay there, look at your hands and if there normal hold your nose and try breathe through it, you you can, your dreaming.

If that's what is happening Congrats, Your further than me!

You'll get there eventually Dylan ^_^
Congratulations .Val., you're doing very well. I was in SP last night and I honestly didn't know what to do as I was listening to an MP3 using my PSP that was supposed to help induce an LD. I eventually just took the headphones off and fell asleep normally....But you, on the other hand managed to almost execute a WILD! Keep trying and good luck with it.

      Thanks!

I experienced sleep-paralysis twice today! (First time since the other day).

Once last night when I was sleeping, I woke up (I think - I don't know what is real or false awakening anymore ) and couldn't move. I thought, "Hm, what should I do now? Try a wild?" I was so tired I fell straight to sleep.

I had an afternoon nap today. It was hot, and I kept waking up. The kids were outside arguing, and I heard one of them come into the room - my mind must have mentally woken up slightly because I heard them ask something, but when I tried to move I couldn't. I thought that was awesome.

      Still no LD, though.
