      You are very close.

What I suggest is when you start seeing different scenes and visual images, you should start to visualise your body moving.
Try to visualize how your body moves when it runs, how the wind feels against your skin, how the earth underneath you feels against your feet. Literally try to feel the movement. Also, try to visualize a environment, I always find a forest or field easy to visualize.
Hopefully you will find yourself even more imersed into the scene and eventually taking control of them.

This is what I do when I want to WILD. I find that visualizing is the best way to end up in a lucid dream. However, this is all about preference, what works for me might not work for you.
