      Semi-lucid: Any Advice

      So after all this time; I finally had a lucid experience, or at least semi-lucid.

      I was in a dream at my old high school; only it looked completely different, and I was floating everywhere. Immediately I thought to myself "Wait... I AM FLYING, SO THEREFOR I AM DREAMING" I did a few reality checks, all of which proved to me that I was NOT dreaming {I WAS DREAMING THOUGH}

      I then approached my friend James who was in my dream and said to him "I am dreaming so why aren't I in control"
      He apparently did not hear the entire sentence. His response was "Of course you are dreaming, YOU ARE FLOATING!"

      This odd experience has left me a little bit baffled, anyone have a similar problem?

      Thanks in advance.

      How vivid was the dream? What usually happens for me is that I don't become 100% lucid if the dream is not vivid enough. In fact, working on increasing dream vividness was what helped me the most with having lucid dreams.

      Saying quantum physics explains cognitive processes is just like saying geology explains jurisprudence.

      Well the dream started out vivid, and when i did the nose pinch reality check realised i was dreaming. I can't remember what i did but the dream started to fade away because i got too excited.

      I can't be sure if i have done the nose pinch RC in a dream since then, but i have been doing the nose pinch every five minutes today so i will update you if i have a lucid dream tonight.

      In my first (induced) lucid dream I also did a Reality Check that accused me of being awake. We need to learn not to take Reality Checks for granted. What you want to extract from RCs is that questioning of "am I dreaming right now?". That questioning is enough to make you aware, whether if you are awake or dreaming.

      That said, best of luck tonight
