pretty much same here. it's been 18 days for me on this forum / in this training. i've had 1 LD so far, i was woken by a phone call.
anyways, the point is to not let it get to you, when you realize you're dreaming, stay cold inside, don't overheat like YES I DID IT, cause that will work negatively. try to stabilize your environment and all. also try focusing on your body. my first lucid: i didn't even stabilize the environment, i focused on getting my hands to catch on fire, and they did , and i remained very lucid untill i got woken by the call

you said it yourself, you were very excited , well, don't do that
happy yes - too excited no.
Focus on your body and the texture of things around you. don't go up in the storyline of your dream too much, at least not as a novice. Going into the story of your dream will result in destruction of your lucidity if you're not very good at it, at least that's my humble oppinion.

I had the SAME problem as you did, many many times before I joined this forum (pretty much like 3 days ago XD) but anyways, as the others have said, just don't get too excited, let yourself go with the flow in your dreams. Like when you realize it is a dream, try and remain as calm as possible, without losing your lucidity. I'm pretty sure this was a DILD but, DILD's arent my thing, had one (and that was PURE luck) DILD so far and it lasted for a few seconds. I have had a great success with WILDing. Although people say it is more complicated I had quite some luck with it (long LD on first try ).
But anyways, thats what I think so far, havent had that much experience with LD's other than that, All I know is that I had this problem all my life until I had a WILD.

      Thanks for the advice.

Next time I will try not to become over excited (which is hard for a beginner), and concentrate more on touching things, while going with the flow. I've never even attempted a WILD...well, not for years and years, anyway. I used to be into astral projection, and though I never really succeeded with it (life got too busy to practice), I used some similar techniques to WILD inducement. I think.

      Anyway, I'll just keep practicing
