isn't this just a binaural thing? i'm a bit skeptic about the page because it just sounds like big words with little meaning: "Right and left auditory input is combined in the brainstem's superior olivary nucleus and routed to the reticular formation that, in turn, uses neurotransmitters to initiate changes in neurological activity in the thalamus and cortex." it's just lots of tongue rolling to say sound changes brain activity (and perhaps impress the unknowing buyer?)

there's lots of great info about light and sound machines out there, but i'd keep away from these "new-age-esque" pages, i have a feeling most of them just rip off people (like wellnesstools, which has a VERY BAD history, keep away from that one!)

I hear what your saying. I was just looking at that site earlier today and I noticed they talk about a lot of stuff most people have never heard of and then tell you how to get those results. They sell a lot of different audio CDs and tapes, but they seem to start reapeting the same themes over and over. I am very skeptical about their claims. Actually I think what they are doing can be easily done at home by the average person for no more money than it costs to buy a cassette tape.

You are probalbly right. I was thinking on geting one and if I had any positive results I would go from there. But if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.

It may be a government experiment -with sublinal messages.

I have this converted to MP3 and have listened to it when I go to bed on my mp3 player.
The first of the 4 part audio series is a pretty good relaxation with a voice guide involving the sound of rain and that biaural(sp) tones that I at least enjoy once I get really relaxed, they are at least good to focus on. after 90 minutes(as instructed in the relaxation part) the voice comes back and says something like. "You hear my voice and understand what I'm saying". You are dreaming now....you are dreaming now and are conscious. I think the others are visulization and other lucid activies.
The price don't seem bad. I could post a snippet but I don't want to get in any trouble.

if you have a good sounding voice (and you don't hate hearing yourself on tape) you can make one of those tapes using bw-gen, random sound fx from the internet and your own recordings and just export that to a wav. I made an LD tape this way, i used a lucid dreaming preset from bwgen, a whole bunch of easy going acoustic songs at low volume and my own voice suggesting things from time to time... though it didn't give me any direct LD's out of nowhere, it helped with dream recall and in time i got my LD's.

the only reason i don't like those cd's aren't because they're relatively pricy or anything (i can actually see how it might be easier to just buy one)... it's the miraculous claims that get to me. But yeah, binaural beats (which imply hemy-sync, so i don't know how this institute has a copyright on that, maybe just the name?) are certainly something to look into. Never doubt the power of sound

I have no experiance of my own to say wether it is good or bad. I can say that someone that has used both said that the centerpointe series is, and I quote, " eons" past the Monroe series.

If anyone tries either of these please let us no your results.
I gave my sister, who has had mild insomnia my CD called sweatt dreams from Hemi sync and she has fallen asleep everytime before the cd was over.

Hmm, Holosync seems very interesting...
I might buy it if the demo proves all it's supposed to be.

From what I read there it's supposed to stimulate Delta waves making it easier to see hypnagogic imagery, relax, etc. so if what they're saying is true it could be a very useful tool for LDing.

Well, I'll have to see. I never take anyone's word for it, heh.

Hmm, well, after listening to the demonstrational track that I got on a CD by mail I'll have to say I'm intrigued to a certain point, though still sceptical.

The demo put me in a rather relaxed state indeed but as pointed out during the demo (half is followed along by a voice explaining Holosync) the demo is only some weak form of it.

As soon as I gather up some money I'm buying the set, in the mean time I want to try listening to the demo again when going to sleep and without setting it to repeat, who knows, it says it should put me into slow delta wave patterns closer to the end and I did feel sleepy, plus I was still keeping aware along with the drowziness setting in.

I Too am a bit skeptical. The hem-isync Series has done wonders for my sister. Not so much myself.
Then I here that this Holocync is so good. But I am like you. I don't take others word for it.

I tried the demo of the hem-isync thing and it was OK. There were some pretty sounds, but with me, the relaxation was the same as if I were listning to some of my favorite classisal music.

My bestfriend was telling me about his friend has these glasses that you wear and goto sleep with on. And I guess while your sleeping they flash lights that wake up your brain while your sleeping and you can obtain lucidity. Anyone ever hear of these? I guess he swears they work. He said he banged every chick he wanted....who knows..

I just wonder if with that $170 (or so) package they send more or less detailed research info...

I mean, saying that Holosync (for instance) activates different brain waves and all the effects that has is one thing but seeing the research is obviously better.
Then again, I suppose I'd want to see such research info before actually buying the set but doubt I could get that, heh.

True. Very True.
I think it is human nature to always want an east way out, a shortcut. There may be some cases where an individual may need some assitance but for the most part I think it just takes a lttle more diligance with some of theses techniques.

Very true as well but Holosync isn't just for attaining lucidity. It's supposed to be helpful in many different aspects of the mind (form relaxation to lucidity and from hightening one's "mental threshold" to really deep meditation) so it's really a combined interest. I doubt I would spend such an amount on something just to help me lucid dream because my plan is pretty flawless as it is: keep a constant frame of mind in resolving the dream state, which means that once it becomes my regular state of mind I'll become lucid in every dream.

P.S. Of course I can't not wonder about if the whole Centrepointe Institute is a scam for money or what not but they do provide a 1 year money back guarantee (though once again it may be tough to get it) so who knows...

Has anybody tried out any OBE CDs from hemi sync to get into the hypnagogic state or to try and induce a WILD? I have my hand on some and was wondering if anybody was interested? For me, I had tried them out . I succesfully had a WILD from the first ouple CDs but can't keep my focus like the manual says for the last couple of CDs.

This is exactly what I am finding lately. In fact, I've stopped using binaural beats in my sound tracks lately and have just started using different kinds of classical and new age music to awaken me in the middle of the night when I expect to be dreaming. I start out with slow music for the first 60 minutes to allow myself to go to sleep, and then change the music to more upbeat music after 60 minutes with very good results, and more vivid dreams than I was having when using binaural beats with just relaxing ocean wave type of music.

For those who are thinking about buying some of the various commerical cd's, I can attest to the fact that most of them don't work, as I have a whole collection of them that I have tried, and no longer use. You are better of buying one of the programs like Brainwave Generator, and learning how to use the program, and then make your own.

Or better yet, just try listening to some classical cd's while you sleep at night, as classical music has a way of stimulating the imagination, which can be great for producing vivid and exciting dreams.

I might possibly know somewhere where you can get the lucid dreaming mp3s from the hemisync technology (good with ipods!) for free...

So we tend to get attracted toward audios that can help induce lucidity because it does seem like the easy way out.

I once had a pure full-out dream of clocks. Clocks all over the place. And I just kept seeing clocks in my dream.
It was from the day before where I kept checking my clock and turning away and turning back to make sure I'm not dreaming.
But I didn't obtain lucidity.

The sleep mask your friend is talking about is the Nova Dreamer or Rem-Dreamer. Boy this pricing a heated debate here. In short Nova Dreamer went up from $275 to around $699 and un-Godly amount if you ask me for lucid dreaming. I've created a mp3 for free that works just as good. You just have to find your own method that works and doesnt cost an arm and a leg$$$$$$.

WOOO That is over 200% mark -up. If that is because supply and demand then lucid dreaming is beginning to show it's face to the mainstream
