      Movement-free Reality Check

I'm constantly trying to think of new reality checks or variations on existing RCs. Like atkins513, I've been wondering if my idea for a movement-free RC would work.

It would revolve around your awareness of itches. At any time, I've realised that there are a number of itches on my body that are below the threshold of my awareness (if you think about this at night when you're trying to go to sleep it will drive you mad, btw ) Two questions:

Do we still feel these below-threshold itches when dreaming?
If we attempt a WILD that ends with the "false awakening" scenario, do the itches on the body "die" thus being an indicator that we've entered a dream?

The mind being a clever thing, it may well be the case that it can accurately replicate the sensation of itches in dreams - or still perceive real itches on the sleeping body - but I'd like to ask for thoughts on this.
My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.

I am not sure your method would work very well. It is worth a try though, if you happen to find yourself in a lucid dream.

Personally, I use a reality check where I block my airways within, like in my throat or around my nose with my toungue.

Yes, I can never do that one - it always takes me so much effort to do it it defeats the purpose.

Really? I tested it in a lucid dream once, and it works fine. How can it require much effort to block your throat with the back of your tongue? Your body does it automatically when you drink and eat.

I can't see how this would work.

I think I misunderstood. I thought you meant the one where you kind of swallow and block the breathing passages.
