      Undestanding WILD

I have had about 7 lucid dreams. But in each one i still havent been able to have full control, i know want to attempt to have a WILD.

I have read many things about WILD'ing and ive read heaps of threads on here , but i still dont fully understand to do it.

      This what i understand -

1- You set alarm 5 / 6 hours into sleep
2- you stay up 5/10 mins
3 - you then go back to bed and relax , laying on your back.
4- ( fom here on i am unsure) , you feel like your sinking into your bed.
5- you will start hear noises and see patterns.
      6- start repeating - 1 - i am dreaming
2- i am dreaming and keep reapeating .

Can someone explain it to me , i have read the threads on here and i dont fully understand

Yes.. When you lie on your back, you must be perfectlly still. What you are trying to do, is make your brain think that your body has gone to sleep, and so you enter sleep paralysis, which is the 'sinking' and 'patterns and noises' you described. The patterns and noises and sinking are not definatelly what you will experience. Some people experience a vibrating, a rocking feeling, a sinking feeling, floating feeling, a feeling as if someone is pushing on your chest (also known as the 'old hag'), hypnagogic imagery (the patterns or images), noises such as people talking or buzzing sounds, and many other things. However; some people don't experience anything at all.

Yes, when you go back to bed, try not to fall asleep. You have to be tired enough for your body to let you go to sleep, but awake enough not fall asleep.. Confusing.
How long it takes really depends on the person.. Some people could take a few minutes, others may take up to an hour. You have to experiment to see what works for you, and how long it takes for you, etc..
And you just have to remind yourself not to get scared sh*tless if you feel/hear something strange. Just remember, none of it is real, and if you go through with it, it will stop soon enough. Try to concentrate on your breathing.
Now, I have been through sleep paralysis, but I am yet to enter a dream. But a lot of people say that their dream just appears in front of them, or that they imagine where they want to be and they are there, or that they sort of 'jump' into a dream.

      That really depends..
I would try maybe... 10-15 minutes. If you feel after that long like as soon as your head hits the pillow you will fall staright asleep, try staying up a little longer. It is good to experiment to find the right amount of time to stay up. Tomorrow night try staying up 5 minutes, then the next night maybe 20... See what works for you.
Try doing things like stretching, going to the toilet, or getting a glass of water while you are up. Also, remember to write down all of your dreams that you remember, to improve you recall.

      Good luck and have fun.

Also, remember that sleep paralysis isn't all scary. Learn to make it fun. All the feelings that you can get from it are quite amazing!

Dreams are a direct reflection of what you have your attention focused on. When people experience hypnogogic hallucinations, the dreams that come right after that stage are formed around the last image you saw. When you go directly into sleep, skipping the hypnogogic stage, people most often dream of their bedroom, house, or yard, because the last thing they were focused on was being in bed. That's why people think they have OBEs.

If you can stay focused on lucidity as you fall asleep without your mind wandering, you should get a lucid related dream.

      Hey,sorry,
      One question...
Do I have to lie on my back?
Cause I never sleep in that position...
      Thanks,
      Sam
The idea is to remain in a constant state of departure while always arriving..

There is a lot of information about WILD on the net and in books. Billybob pointed out in one of his tutorials that it's easy to get caught up in the small details and that at the heart of WILDing is a central principle: you're going to sleep while keeping your mind slightly active.

My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.

      Yeah...
Billybobs guide is a simple, easy guide.
      I suggest reading it.
