Lightbulb Modified colored sleep mask + RCs idea

I haven't tried this yet since I just thought of it today after reading the forums.

Basically I'm trying to change what I see, the shape, color, and visibility to help me become more aware and more likely to have a LD during a WBTB etc.

Get a cheap sleep mask and cut holes (maybe about the size of a penny, figure out what's best with a piece of paper and look through it, start small) so you can see through it, then get something like colored saran wrap, the plastic stuff you wrap food with, it comes in different colors. I'd bet a craft store has something cheaper and smaller considering the variety of colors/shapes I plan to use. Cover the holes with whatever color you want, I'll probably use something like velcro so I can switch out the colors whenever I want (if you think of something better tell me).

I think I'll use a different color for each eye every day that way I can close one eye and see the world with one tint and then do the other and see it another way. I can't find my old 3D glasses right now but maybe if you combine the right colors like in art class you'll see green if you have yellow and blue eye covers. I'm going to experiment with different sizes too, very small might be best because your vision will be so limited like looking through a pin hole that you'll likely want to 'take it off' during a dream and that's where the next step comes in.

Every time you take off the mask for whatever reason always do at least 3 types of reality checks and then do questioning reality checks like "What does my vision normally look like, is everything the right color, can I normally see two different tints when look through both eyes even after I took off the mask, how did I get here did I plan on coming here, what colors did I pick before bed and are they the same as now, why does my vision look normal now do I remember taking the mask off? (etc you think up more).

Before bed I'll probably wear the color mask for a few minutes while sitting on the pc and looking around the room then I'll take it off and do the RC routine then leave it off a bit and visualize a dreamsign scenario and do some RCs then put it back on and go to sleep after setting the alarm for the WBTB (5 hours maybe) then I'll get up and read the digital clock 3 times look through both eyes one at a time and then both, noting the colors seeing if they're the same as I remember choosing. Take it off do the RCs stay up for 10 minutes or more taking it on and off a few times then put it on and back to sleep. I'll have to experiment to see how much changing etc is necessary.

You could also combine this with the 'pill method' and passive dream control methods, since you could be dreaming at any time even if it seems like you're not you can do things like saying "a wizard (god, aliens, whatever) just turned my vision blue", believe it will work and if it doesn't work just ignore what happened don't make excuses or feel negative. You can say to yourself that you have a pill in your pocket that will turn everything you see red, then just reach in and grab it and swallow (expecting immediate results), you don't even need to feel a pill in your hand or your mouth just go through the motions. Now that I think about it you could probably just say it's in your mouth already then swallow it, or say there's a medicine needle in your pocket then reach in and pinch your leg imagining the needle is administering it.

Good luck to you, be creative try different shapes like triangles, thin rectangles, etc. If you have any ideas or tips please post them here, cya.

I don't post much but I've had over 80 lucid dreams mostly DILDs with some WBTB occasionally, that number would be much higher but I do more thinking than doing .

Thanks to "atkins513" and the people in his thread for inspiring me.

thats a pretty interesting concept. The biggest problems with RC's that depend on sights or sounds are that the imagination can still duplicate them with ease. The best reality checks that I have found are the ones that have physical attachment that cannot be faked. For instance, holding your nose and trying to breath through it cannot fail as far as I know. Because it can't be faked. But maybe this will work out, just let us all know

unless, of course, you believe it will fail
