      Video Induced Lucid Dream?

I wouldn't call this a new technique, but a little trick I accidentally stumbled upon seems to work decently for me. So I would like to share it with anyone else who's willing to give it a shot.

To keep this short and sweet, lately I've been falling asleep to a few (about 3) episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force on repeat on my laptop which I keep on my bed. The other night I had very vivid dreams focused around what is happening in the episodes. After a few times of them repeating and while in a dream I said to myself, "Hey, isn't this an ATHF episode?" And became lucid for a short while. Lately I've been trying out the FILD technique which has been working out amazingly. A good tutorial for that (http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...highlight=fild). I haven't furthered my research into my success with this yet but would like to hear from anyone who might try it.

      THE SHORT VERSION:

1.) Put an episode or two of a show you like on repeat (if possible)
2.) Continue going to sleep with said episodes on repeat for a few days to a week.
3.) Set alarm for a few hours after sleep around an REM period, wake up listen to show for a minute or two, then go back to sleep while still listening absently.

      TIP:
After watching the episodes a few times each night try to do a RC when you hear a certain phrase or see a certain image from the show that will be memorable to you.

I noticed that this worked better for me because I remember more with a visual aid instead of just doing it with music like I've seen on here before. Both audio and video help me put a mental image together more easily. Could help with people (like me) who are not very good at visualizing images on their own.

It depends on person to person and also how the mind interacts with the ongoing show. If it's passive and only seeing the show like on autopilot then I doubt it'll have any effect on the dream other than dreaming the show. In the first place the idea of lucid dreaming and the show must be as one...it's easier said than done. I have watched My Little Pony vids on youtube many many times not 24/7 but at least once a day or pics on my computer. The very most is I get dreams about it if lucky but no lucid even though it's a designated dreamsign that has to do with lucid dreaming and because it's the reason for lucid dreaming...still nothing. Watching the show is passive observer perspective and to be lucid the mind needs to be actively aware of the immediate environment it's in. Your lucid that you got from watching the show could have been a result of conditioning the mind to link the ATHF theme with lucid dreaming something the mind conjured up in the dream from day residue which could be the reason Y it was transitional/brief.
