I just found youtube clip where William S. Burroughs talks about dreaming. Some ideas are not new to lucid dreamers but there's couple of intresting thoughts that are beyond dreaming.

YouTube - William S. Burroughs on Dreams (EKF)

I think the that clip is made from these lectures (going to listen them next):
William S. Burroughs lecture - Part 1 : Burroughs, William S. : Free Download & Streaming : Internet Archive
William S. Burroughs lecture - Part 2 : Burroughs, William S. : Free Download & Streaming : Internet Archive

> First half of a lecture by William S. Burroughs including a tape recorded experiment called "Paranormal Voices," a cut-up experiment of Brion Gysin, experiments with Sommerville, messages from dreams, The Last Words of Dutch Schultz, and phrases of minimal context. Burroughs also discusses Shakespeare, computers, Homer, Gertrude Stein, James Joyce, T.S. Eliot, and Carl Jung. Lecture ends with a question and answer session.
