      Chances of an OBE happening? It happened this morning...

      Ok, so this morning, I woke up from this dream, well, at least I thought I did. But I noticed some loud sound and everything was vibrating and I was like, "Uhh, this might be the onset of an OBE. Uh-oh." Then I tried moving to get up and my arm just went through the bed. I was also breathing very heavily for some reason...and then I tried NOT breathing, and I was still OK, at that point I knew it was an OBE...

      I wanted to fully get out of my body and do something, so I tried to get out and it was working, I was slowly floating out of my body. But then I got scared that I would see a ghost or something and I went back. I woke up, albeit for a few seconds, but when I went back to sleep that vibrating came back, but to a lesser extent.

      After that, I woke up, got out of bed, ate some chips, and went downstairs, and went on the computer. End of story.

      That brings us to right now...What are the chances of an OBE ever happening again? It's only ever happened to me twice including now. Also, do any of you know any techniques to induce one?

      Very well. And I don't know any techniques right now but there are millions on the web. I'm still waiting on my book to come in the mail.

      Ok, but why was I in this black void at the time I realized my hand went through the bed? Either that or I was too afraid to open my eyes. I was also in that same void when I had my first OBE...

      Let's start by trying to identify anything unusual about the last 24 hours of your life. Time of sleep, amount of sleep, what you've eaten/drank, what you were thinking yesterday, events the day prior, if you did any drugs/caffeine/pills, etc..

      The "black void" you mentioned. I've heard of people talk about it before. They call it "Astral Blindness" and it happens when you're still close to your body.

      chances are great! if you want it to happen again you can induce it. Its not as hard as people think. just wake up a little too early, then fall back asleep keeping your mind awake. ( MY mind is awake, My body is asleep) the vibrations will start, dont fight them and off you go.

      MY technique:
      -wake up after 4 hours of sleep
      -stay awake for 30 minutes while really waking my mind up. (listen to good music, meditate, read about AP or LD) all of these work you just have to pick one
      - lay in bed in a comfortable position ( laying on your back is best) repeat 3 times (mind is awake body is asleep)
      -feel your body slipping into an extrmley relaxed state while focusing on your breathing and your awarness of the body (dont think in words, dont think about what your doing just be aware of what is happening) THIS IS KEY along with complete body relaxation.
      -after a while of this you should be on the edge of sleep and awake... the vibrations will just begin
      - surrender to the vibration (dont do anything) just let it take over, feel the power, let go of all thoughts of waking life, Let the vibration consume you.
      -as it grows stronger and you let go further you will sink of from under your body or float up out of your body (you can imagine one of these "exits" while vibrating or just let go and do nothing)
      - when you are fully... well, the world is your playground.
      - dont become to excited or you will wake

      passive awarness is what makes it happen. be aware of what is happening to you without adding judgement or assumption. when you let go of this reality and all the thoughts that connect you to it , you will naturally slip into another state of existance. LET GO WHILE BEING AWARE OF YOURSELF LETTING GO.

      OMG! I just realized that before the OBE happened that I HAD woken up, then fell asleep again but as you said, my mind was still conscious...

      Wait, but once you ARE out of your bodey, where can you go and what can you do? I've heard people say you can travel time...is that possible? I'd go to the 1940s if that was.
