Most Straightforward Route to Astral Projection

Hi. I've got a bit of experience with LD's ( about 50 ) although have not really been practising over the last few years and very few hence. Recently I became interested in Astral Projection. I'd always thought of it as identical to LD. Didn't really hear about the controversy or the fact that it had reasonable claims to being at least a distinct experience from LD's until recently.

I want to know what is the easiest and most straightforward method to AP. I have heard having regular stable LD's first is the best way. After this it seems that one must learn to peel ones astral body from ones physical dream body using various techniques. The most common thing I hear is to have an WILD in which one has a 'false wakening' and you find yourself in bed. But rather than just say 'I'm dreaming' and messing about in the dream world, one must have a strong and intense desire to astrally project. One then begins to feel a tingling and increases this by willing it, making a conscious effort to climb out of the body ( rolling over seems to help ) trying to project ones astral self into another path of the room.

I'm not really interested in debating this. For the time being I'm accepting it on faith as fact. Just would be great to hear from people who practise this experience to give me their take on it or point me to some good links. Thanks!

Also what if I have an LD in which I am not in bed but in some other place? What do I do then.

OK no replies as yet. I'm going to collate some external links I hope that's okay. Its a way of collecting what I think is useful information on the subject. For my benefit. Searching for threads on DV has been an exercise in futility. A lot of long winded threads with irrelevant comments. btw I've got no commercial interests in any of these. I get paid enough in my day job:

From what I can see the key is getting to a point of intense tingling during a WILD or during sleep paralysis and tuning into it. Then willing to step out of your body. I would think that it would also help if one bought into this whole AP business or even the possibility of an OBE as being distinct from an LD. In all my LD's I don't ever recall actually looking down at my body. The bed was always empty if there ever was a bed. On the other hand in many of my earlier LD's when I was 15 or 16, I didn't actually look for my body and some of the dreams had characteristics that suggest they were OBE's or AP's.

I think the techniques are the same as WILD & OBE. The name OBE and AP are different so that they don't slash in that faith.. (sorry if that didn't make any sense)

If you search for some WILD tutorials, you will achieve astral projection (eventually, I've still had no luck yet)

Yeah I'm finding that you are right Benzilla. Its all about getting good at WILD.

But even assuming OBE's and AP's are the same thing there is some evidence to suggest that they are distinct from LD's. I'm agnostic as to the reason for AP's or OBE's - but keeping an open mind.

I'm trying to hone my WILD technique at present using Jeff's WILD method and CrazyInsanes WILD method. McWillis thanks for the link, I've read it and will give it a shot after I try out the other two first. I need to get good at LD'ing again before I attempt OBE techniques.

Obe4u.com is by far the easiest way 2 experience an obe. Specifically the indirect method. I got two obe's over three nights when I tried it a year ago. It's hard to do the simple technique now though cause I work 40 hrs a week. But if u got the time on your hands obe4u.com is definitely the place 2 go.

Most simple way i have found is by using suppliments. Choline and galantamine taken after 4 hrs of sleep. Typically leads to a full OBE whilst the body is asleep. (For me anyway.)

Its pretty f@@king amazing really. Complete full awareness of being outside the physical body, with perceptions of the room all around me just like being awake.
