      Proof of OBE

      Hi,

Let me first start out that I do believe OBE is real, but I would still be very interested to hear if anyone here has been able to do some personal experiments to proof that he/she was actually at a location outside the body in a way that it could be verified. For instance, seeing a particular object that would not have been possible to find without the assistance of OBE.

Well its about time someone started a thread on this!

      Just kidding.

My opinion is that the paranormal results that people sometimes experience during OBE are real, but that the OBE aspect of the experience is a dream that a person has. The dream tries to metaphorically represent where the knowledge of remote events come from, but traveling around in a special body isn't actually where the knowledge comes from.

I have had some unusual OOBEs where I am present in my bedroom.
However I must admit, they were more than likely just dreams.
Perhaps more brain is switched on when dreaming like this, resulting in the hyper real scenarios that occur.
Then again, I could have been out of my body.
So, yes, and no for your answer. ( Not much use eh' )

I believe knowledge comes from somewhere beyond, somewhere what we still do not understand. Some people call it Akashik records.

You are trying to understand where knowledge comes from, and the most logical way is to dream about actually being there.

Well, not an object, but an entire place. In the experience, I was with a person who exists in waking life. She brought me to a park and walked me around it. It had a huge river (I thought it was a lake until I got a different view of it). There was a bridge over the river that looked strange to me. Where I'm from, bridges are really generic and concrete. This was not like that, so to me, it was very distinctive. We sat at a picnic table in an area that had a bunch of them sort of scattered about among some younger trees (as in, not old, very large trees like in the rest of the park). I saw a structure in the distance that looked weird to me, that I didn't pay much attention to or try to focus on, but I noticed it and thought how I wondered what it was and that it almost looked like small, old, wooden buildings. In the experience, I asked the person I was with where we were at, and she said Kennewick. I had never heard of it. When I woke up, I googled it and found that it's a city in WA. On the map, I could see a big river going through it, which turned out to be the Columbia River. I could see that where the river ran through the city, there was a park, called Columbia Park. I did a google image search of the park and found pictures of the bridge I'd seen (called the Blue Bridge), the picnic table area I'd been in, the same views of the river I'd just seen, and the weird structure out in the distance was a big wooden playground that had some tall, thin, wooden structures that you could say resembled small buildings.

Obtaining information you would of not known otherwise is a gd way of differentiating obe and lucid dreams. I personally do this through numbers. My dream numbers are about 50% accurate when compared to actual numbers in waking experiences. My obe numbers so far have been very accurate. 3for3 in one case. Now that's not to say that an obe is occurring out side of my body and a dream is not. It's to say that I'm experiencing something closer and more relevant to my waking experience. I mean I'm still sleeping like I would in a dream but it's a very light sleep. Those that have obe before and come back may feel like they were never asleep. The feeling can be compared to blinking, eyes opening and closing but never actually sleeping. I got off topic a little but I hope this helps u in some way.

When you are aware, what your mind expresses is creativity. It creates your life.
When you are in a higher state of consciousness, it not only creates the life of whatever you want, but also on whom ever you want". -LifeBlissFoundation

It seems to me that proof of classic OBE (as opposed to Shadowofwind's version, which honestly seems more likely to me anyway) is very simple, and was already mentioned in OP:

Simply identify something in another room that was placed there without your knowledge. Or, perhaps to avoid accidentally identifying telepathy, pick a room where you've never been before, and describe its contents. Or go into a room with a news show playing, and describe what's being reported. Whatever the case, you're doing little more than OBE'ing into a room with novel items in it, and describing them.

Funny that a test this simple hasn't been successfully documented yet, at least to my knowledge...

Sometimes, especially when physically strained or exhausted, I feel that I am floating a few feet above myself, and when I realize that I've been thinking that I was watching myself, I snap back into my own head. Does anyone else ever experience this?

      Hi Celestickle,

I can tell you about one similar OBE I had. One time many years ago I was in bed (awake) when out of nowhere I got a terrible unbearable pain in my leg. I have no idea where that pain came from. Almost instantly I left my body and I was floating above the bed and I saw myself below me. As I was floating there, I felt no pain at all. I was free. It was also a rather odd feeling because I could feel that my size was no larger than a tennisball. So I felt rather small. I forgot to mention that just before I left my body I ask the Divine to send me healing to remove the pain - and right after I said that I left my body. When I returned into my body the pain was gone. I am sure many people will have stories like mine. Just wanted to give you an example since you asked about it.

I had a dream around a year ago that mentioned the Akashik Records.
I woke, and wrote the words down, as they were new to me.
After searching the net for a few hours, I found several definitions.
This annoyed the wife quite a bit, as it was 4am.
Seems like a lot of knowledge is embedded into us during life that we can not access.
Then an odd statement pops up in a random dream.
Quite an unusual, and interesting coincidence for me, this one.

i remember when i was a child, the most weird experience that i had (that only know its called a OBE) was seeing myself into the top of my old room in my old house....and i was seeing myself sleeping, then i just fall into myself, and woke up. it was so vivid, i still remember as if i had that yesterday or something...i should had 5 years old or something...but its the only one i remember...then i just remember a strange sensation that i had one week ago, during a WILD, at some point i see myself flotoate and get out of my body, but it was very confusing...maybe it was just HH, but i dont have sure..
