Teleportation and time control in the real world.

      Right - It's long I know but I think it's interesting:

A few weeks ago I started meditating. I say meditaiting, it's not as If i read up on it or anything I just decided to sit in my room with my music on and see if I could get to the stage were I could block out the music and still be awake (I got the idea from the day before when I was sat in one of the weekly Quaker silent meetings we have at my college and I swore I had been able to make myself block out what little noise was being made by the slight movements of the other people there). I guess I was using a sort of self hypnosis technique.
It took a while (like 1.5 hours) but eventually I got to the stage where I could open my eyes and see my computer screen from my bed - still playing the visualisation for the music - but I couldn't hear it because I was concentrating on the quietness of my thoughts.
Anyway this wore off after a while but it worked so I decided to try it again the next day.

I've been "meditating" for quite a while now (~7 weeks) and I've tried all sorts of things which I would try when I'm asleep. Stuff like flying and setting on fire is obviously impossible but I can trick myself into feeling weightless or feeling very hot. The stuff which works the best though is the teleportation and time distortion stuff. A couple of days ago I wanted to see if I could "teleport" so I tried hypnotising myself into doing it. Again it is obvious that I was unable to ACTUALLY travel through space and time to my final destination, but I thought it would be possible to recreate that feeling from in my dreams.
This meant that I basically hypnotised myself into the appropriate state, all the while thinking about my final destination and how there should be a seemless transition between there and my current position in the room if I was successful. The big idea being that I could trick myself into getting up, walking to the destination and then forgetting that that was what I had done.

I'd like to say it worked, and in a way it did. But instead of opening my eyes and seeing that I was where I had wanted to be, I found that I was actually in a different place altogether and it seemed that during my hypnotic state I had "teleported" myself from my bean bag and onto my bed. It was very disorientating. I think that I must have ended up forgetting my objective but remembering that I did not want to remember performing it...if that makes sense...meaning that I just ended up going to bed.

I'm still trying to "teleport" and I wondered if anyone who has had a similar experience during meditation has thought about trying it or if they could give me some advice. I know it's possible to do it to other people through hypnosis but is self hypnosis a step too far?

Thanks for reading, I know it was long winded.
Expect the unexpected - when it arrives ask it if you are dreaming.

I would say first of all that do not say that something is "obviously impossible" because in the unlikely event that it is possible, you've just made it impossible by believing that it is.

In meditation, you are quieting your mind, and relaxing your body. In that process you will eventually reach a stage where your mind stops relying on external sensory input to "determine" what reality is, which is how the dreamstate process works. So this idea of teleporting works like this. when you meditate, you get to the hypnagogic state. You at this point can hypnotise yourself into believing just about anything, because again, you are not relying on external input for information.

So you can convince yourself that you started off meditating in a different part of your room, or even a different part of your house, and once you truly believe it, convince yourself that you can teleport to a location. But when you open your eyes you appear to be somewhere else, when in reality, that's where you started, you just forgot. That's what I imagined happened. What you're talking about is something along the lines of sleepwalking. I don't know much about that, but I don't think you can get that full effect just from meditating...

I applaud you on this part. The reason why people believe it is impossible isn't really their fault. We have been told to think a certain way since birth. Some of it has been in order to keep us safe. I honestly think fear is also not really there to harm us, but instead to keep us safe and down to earth.

Instead of looking at it impossible one should always look at it with a open mind. We only use a small amount of our brain so how do we truly know what is possible and impossible?

      I'm still trying to "teleport"
Nothing is impossible. There is always a way to achieve something. Your lack of knowledge of how to achieve it doesn't make it impossible.
More so, the fact that you are "trying" instead of doing. That is, instead of first seeking knowledge of the way to achieve the goal, then practicing it actively and realising it, you don't really want it and are doing it out of curiosity, more so not knowing it's possible.

So, all in all, gain an open frame of mind, find knowledge of what it is you wish to achieve, study it, use it and you will surely succeed through effort.

hidden saint and merlock REALLY impressed me with their replies. I thought that I was the only one who thought that way. As for Elwood...was that a serious question? Japanese food restaurant style? I'm not sure I entirely understand...

But as for meditating, it's quite easy! Just relax, close your eyes, and take deep breaths. Depends on what you're tyring to accomplish though. A lot of it is just how you think.

I meditate fairly often and I know a lot of different techniques.
I'm not going to post them all here because it would take me forever.

The best way to find out all the techniques is to do a google search on "meditation techniques" and also just spend time on lots of different forums asking about it.

And with the hypnosis thing... I have been to a professional hypnotist, and I can do self-hypnosis. The one thing I'd like to say about it, is that it is NOT like you see in the movies or on TV. They do not just count backwards from 10 then click their fingers and your under their control. The entire time you are hypnotised you can still hear what they are saying and you still have control over your body. People on TV that just click their fingers and the people do whatever they say are all just fakes/actors.

Everything you said is not paranormal, delusion caused all the walking to the bed and forgetting it, look up false memory really common. This would explain the lapses in time, also do meditation without music, as a buddhist it is easy to think that you are doing meditation correct, however you're doing it wrong listening to music. Plus I can see HI if I lay down and meditate, when I am not tired I can see HI.

Well, thats me done, try cut out the hypnosis as it is the opposite to meditation. Focusing, have you tried zhine http://www.plotinus.com/zhine_tibetan_dream_yoga.htm , if you can meditate with you're eyes open and still teleport then you're either crazier or a gifted person. I suggest you put the letter A in the place you want to teleport and meditate like usual to see if you can teleport with you're eyes open.

That's inaccurate. Who determined that meditating with music is "wrong"? It's not wrong, to the contrary many, if not most pysychologists/psychotherapists recommened using music. The goal of meditation is to relax yourself. Perhaps listening to music for YOU is not relaxing, but if it's relaxing to others then it is not "wrong", and to deem it so is innacurate. This isn't a flame or anything, I was just perplexed that you seemed to state your views on meditation as a fact. Sorry if this came off as an attack, it really isn't meant to be

There are many many meditation techniques, as Eonn said...I think it really just depends on what you're trying to get done with the meditation. Perhaps there's a thought that is troubling you? or you are trying to interpret a dream? maybe you're trying to raise energy? Some people just need to relax and find a quiet place. Tell us your goals so we can give you proper techniques. But also let's not hijack the thread too much from what Lemon was trying to get at

Awsome idea - I'll try that one, it should be so much easier.

As for this statement I have to say that I'm not fully behind you on that one. Repeated sessions with a hypnotist would make it possible to condition a person into falling into the hypnotic state very quickly - even instantly (at a touch of the forehead). All that needs to be done is to get them to remember how they feel as they are falling into the state and how they feel when they are in it, this means that they can recall the state much faster with time. I've only tried basic techniques on some of my friends but I've noticed that there has definitely been a shortening of the induction blurb as it becomes less and less necessary.

I'm just more of a old school type person. I usually think things in my head without realizing someone else already thought of it a long time ago. I think it's the same with learning the moment that we think we know everything is the moment we stop learning as well.

I found your initial post very interesting. I actually mastered time manipulation/dilation once with the aid of LSA..sort of utilizing the theory of relativity I could make everything move in slow motion, or speed up as I saw fit. Now, when I get the random urge to make things move in slow motion, I just recall how I did it that first time, and it still works...but only for a few moments. I bet if I actually practiced it, I'd be able to do it alot better. It's really all in your head.

I bet it's mint for when you're playing sports and things...and how much better would people be at things like air hockey!!!

It's not something that I've really "learnt" to do because I've always been able to do it, but when I think about it I can pretty much induce an adreneline rush whenever I want - just by thinking about thinks like flight from my lucid dreaming.

All of this is just about perception. You can do virtually anything with your mind, whether you are doing it physically or not. First person perception is a very powerful tool. I'm gonna be reading up on it a lot more to get an idea how to further this concept

Aquanina how did you do it? I didn't really understand how you were able to do that

It's not going to be easy to explain...because I was under the influence of psychotropic substances when I learned how to do it. So I could just, see things differently. For example...you are seeing and experiencing life in "real time"...but try imagining that everything is actually supposed to be moving alot faster than it is right now...and imagine that what you are seeing, doing, hearing, etc. is all happening in slow motion, and you will begin to see it as such. For example, I was watching tv...and I started to imagine that everything was happening in slow motion. Suddenly, it felt like time was slowing down, the characters were moving so much slower than they should have been. Even their voices seemed drawn out and in slow motion. And when I would stop concentrating, then everything would come back to "real time". It was really trippy...but I found that I can now do this whenever I want. But usually no more than a few seconds.

Ok, bare with me I'll try to explain better. You just have to look at your life from different perspectives. Pretend that you are a planet, for example, or the earth. To a planet, who is moving very slowly, your life would appear to be in super fast motion. So imagining your life as a planet you can see that everything is moving very fast. Now imagine your life from the perspective of an ant. If you were an ant, everything that we consider to be "real time" would be happening alot slower from their perspective. If you can see things from other perspectives, theory of relativity I believe...then you can slow down and speed up your life accordingly. The only downside to this...is that I've found that when trying to slow or speed up time...I have to become quite detatched from my life and what is going on at the moment, to shift perspectives. So I don't really know if it's something that you can put into practice AND live a normal life.

Now...there's a whole other phenomemon dealing with time dilation that surrounds the drug DXM. This is not something I have to concentrate to make happen. It just happens. A minute on DXM can feel like hours, days...or even years. The time dilation I've and my friends have experienced using DXM is incredible. Your senses on DXM are so incredibly heightened that, for example...you can see with your eyes closed...in my opinion, through echo-location. Think of the movie Daredevil, he's blind but he can see in the rain. It's just like that. But what's more significant, and what I think can help people get ahead in life or even just better themselves...is that when you are on DXM...the time dilation is soooo incredibly strong that when having a conversation with someone, it almost feels like you have hours to come up with a reply. Typically when having a conversation, people don't pick up on the little things, they just talk. On DXM, someone says something...and you pick up on their body movements, their tone, inflection, facial expressions, their words, any meaning behind their words, their feelings, etc...and you have time to process all this information, and it happens in just seconds but again, seems like slow motion because of the time dilation, but you have a huge advantage. I've had conversations with people when I was coming down from a DXM trip that quite simply blew the other person away. They couldn't understand how I could be so perceptive, understanding, intelligent, etc. And I only WISH that I could SEE that well all the time. You're able to look at everything from a much bigger perspective. You're able to pick up on any fakeness, lies, or hidden meanings in what a person is saying...and dissect it objectively and give them a very well thought out and rational response. It makes me wonder, for example...what it would be like for someone to be able to do this on a job interview...or...a government debate...etc. For me...it's important because I am a person who typically is very quick to act out of emotions. And it's teaching me to think things through before being so quick to react to others.

Ok I'm done rambling for now heh...sorry I know alot of that is off-topic

I don't know how it works... But I know this: That you can cook a man's dinner with electricity, and you can also cook the man!"

It's not about what you understand, merely about what you perceive as real.

And For the record, I would truely recommend watching The Secret to anyone wishing to manifest a new reality - including the 'impossible' ones!

It is not that hard to understand electricity a three year old could understand electricity. You remind of people who say nobody understand relativity.

Well, I would recommend you don't watch this film ever again. Ofcourse if you want the intelligence of a nine year old then watch the film, ten is when you learn about how electricity works.

I nearly died of laughter when reading this crap. I would suggest you read something like How life imitates chess by Garry Kasparov or Brain Building in twelve weeks by Marylin vos Savant, best self help books ever, trust me if you don't understand electricity then you need all the help possible.

Sorry if I came off all aggressive my head is hurting more then usual.

I nearly died of laughter when reading this crap. I would suggest you read something like How life imitates chess by Garry Kasparov or Brain Building in twelve weeks by Marylin vos Savant, best self help books ever, trust me if you don't understand electricity then you need all the help possible.

Sorry if I came off all aggressive my head is hurting more then usual.

i think you are missing the point of what sanzora is saying. she said its not about what you understand, its about what you percieve as real.

You don't have to unerstand how something works for it to happen...
Aye, though that is with independant actions of the world about. To realise something of one's own power within an independantly functioning world such as our own, one needs to find a way to realise it.

Perception and understanding are one http://www.richardgregory.org/papers...-blindness.pdf
see perception are based on neural networks
The Necker cube has shed light on the human visual system. The phenomenon has served as evidence of the human brain being a neural network with two distinct equally possible interchangeable stable states.[1] Sidney Bradford, blind from the age of ten months but regaining his sight following an operation at age 52, did not perceive the ambiguity that normal-sighted observers do.

If we didn't need to understand something to percieve it we would all be like Sidney Bradford and not see the necker cube illusion.
