      thought related to precognitive dreams

Here is a vague thought about why precognitive dreams are possible.

There are parallel worlds, so to speak, but unlike science fiction ‘timelines’, these are only potentially real. For the most part they’re also not branches off of our history. They’re more like similar histories, what our historical chain of causal events could be if the whole thing were dragged sideways. These potential histories are subconsciously connected to us through our thoughts. When events do occur, the collection of potential histories outlines or constrains what is possible.

Interesting idea. I think that many paranormal phenomena could be associated with parallel universes, like those modern physics say could exist. I have often thought that some Lucid dreams or astral projections might take place in these parallel universes as well.

I also think that precognitive dreams could be the result of a unconscious centre which can take in and synthesis data or information with much greater efficiency than the conscious mind, and when it predicts something important it will let the person know through intuitions or dreams.

Here is a interesting article you may enjoy. Philip K. Dick - The Man Who Remembered the Future - disinformation

PKD wrote several fantastic stories about precognition and parallel universes, including 'Minority Report', 'UBIK"', and 'Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said'.

I typically see-saw between posts that are either too cryptic to make any sense or too long for anyone to read, but I'll try to clarify what I mean a little bit.

My hypothetical 'parallel worlds' are not roads not taken, in contrast to the 'many worlds' of physics. They're a part of nature somehow, an aether of almost-realities that reality swims in. But they are not real from any perspective in the same way that our reality is, and they're mostly parallel to rather than branched off of our reality. Parts of them can be exchanged with parts of our reality, and become 'real', but there isn't a point in history where any particular reality is the same as ours before diverging.

Suppose I'm trying to predict the future, but my model isn't good enough to yield a reliable result. One approach is to run a large number of similar models, none of which are 'right', but which collectively show something about the problem. For example, even if none of the hypothetical situations corresponds to the actual situation, if action 'X' leads to a bad result in most of the hypothetical situations, that can still be a remarkably good predictor of what happens in the actual situation. We do that with thoughts, as a way of deciding what actions to pursue. My claim is that fate has some kind of bundle of pseudo-realities which surround reality, and which help sketch out what direction it can take. That collection of semi-impossibilities is pruned somehow, which limits what can happen in reality.

I think this makes sense to me - what you are saying. How I am understanding you is in pointing out that whenever we are making any choices or decisions etc etc - like we are almost constantly it seems - we always go through a ( you called it pruning ) selection process of sorts ... Each of us doing it in our own unique way depending on all sorts of stuff we believe or don't etc etc ...By doing this we are in actual fact creating a path forward ...in seeing a ' best way/convenient way/perfect way ..whatever we might call it. We chose it or see it within our mind and move into it in reality and dream about it...Sometimes it's just as we imagined other times it's off a bit sometimes what we dream or see as happening actually happens- Would you be saying it's the power of our choice making and then how it fits into all the choices and directions ( these being possible alternate realities in a sense ) etc that are being chosen/selected/dreamt by minds around us or like us that help 'predetermine' what happens next then?
