      I second that!

Although, while 'wicked' in the sense of intensity, this is NOT something that one should deliberately go out and do by intention (fighting other spirits).

      ...

(... Yeah. Truth is... I actually know nothing about this, but I'm apparently speaking from what general wisdom might say,... that is,... if it still applies in this realm in the same way... . Going out and fighting spirits by intention just sounds like a bad idea, ya know?)

You've probably done it unintentionally anyway. It's not something you have complete control over. Often what you thought was a dream has actually been you leaving the body. It happens. Some even say it happens at some point every time you're asleep. I've even heard statements that Lucid Dreaming and Astral Projection, or Out of Body Experience, are simply different names for the same thing. Yet others claim there are no APs and OBEs, it's all just LD. Or the opposite, it's all AP, you're never really dreaming. Lots of people, scientists, religious figures, etc with their own theories and beliefs.

And it's not such a bad idea. It's about training your spirit. In my book they say you need to have a strong astral form to survive the death fragmentation, so physical fitness, precise knowledge of your own body and a set, time-independent purpose (e.g. to protect the weak, to gain power and authority, etc, NOT to repair cars...) are vital. Astral creatures can reach you from their dimension and feed on the energy of the weak. It's best if you're from those who can fight them back.

BTW wouldn't it be nice to have a library section on the forum?

So, in theory, when you have an OBE or AP and you fight these creatures, if you're injured, your spirit or soul gets injured? Much like how if you screw a succubus in your sleep you'll wake up exhausted and possibly even in pain?

Have people been killed by these creatures in AP/OBEs?

Traverse the inifinite. Experience the impossible.

Well those are often the creatures you see in your dreams. They only want to feed on you. So the question is actually whether a nightmare can kill. Well, surely, if you're on your death bed and have a very faint heart, you won't survive the shock of a nightmare. Astral combat is about confronting those creatures instead of just running away from them. The form of your soul is created by your mind, so it can't really be damaged, but feels pain that can also be transmitted to the body. They say in dreams it doesn't hurt. They lie.

Pretty much anything. They usually draw shapes and textures from your memory to take form. Often they are wild animals, alien creatures, etc. If you lack the knowledge to recognize them, they could appear as shapeless blobs. It's written in detail in the book "Techniques of Astral Combat" by G. Travels. I've read several books on OBE and I found this one most interesting.
