Thread: Wierd Experience

This happened a long time ago. I don't think it relates to dreaming, so I'm posting it here. It was early morning, and I was in the half awake/half asleep (actually mostly asleep) state, and all of a sudden I hear a defeaning explosion. (I wasn't dreaming anymore, but I was in the this semi-state) I jolt awake with my heart racing. My first thought is lightning must have hit that house, but it was a bright sunny morning. My second thought was that maybe a bomb dropped in the area, so I run outside, and everything is ok. My third thought is, maybe a TV or Radio was on in the house, but everything was off, actually everyone was still except for my mom who was in the bathroom. I never found out what that was. It happened years ago and it's the only time in my life something like that ever happened. It was not like ordinary Sleep-Paralysis with booming sounds... this was just a defeaning explosion noise out of nowhere

Anyone have anything similar/random like this that was maybe actually connected to something?

I've also experienced several times loud noises when I'm about to fall asleep that makes my heart jump out of my chest. I even had ear plugs in to help me sleep so I know it was all in my head.
