I think I believe it. Not sure. This site has a huge collection of people that express full hearted that they can. Just everyday people who work, go to school, drink, get mad, and live their lives. Not weird pseudo hippies or anything. They have some videos and pictures not to mention tons of tutorials.

How many fishes do you think have been taken from the sea and cast into the fishbowl. Even worse, upon entering the fishbowl, the influence of the other fishes is so powerfull that this fish forgets that the sea even exists and so falls into a illusion. Like a virus, it spreads to all in the fishbowl.

Good job, but I suppose you haven't understood anything of what you said yourself. I've read quite some stuff on Hindu Vedanta, Zen and all that stuff. It's philosophical, theoretical and subjective. If you believe it has a practical relevance in that "anything" is "possible", then you haven't understood anything. It's only one thing that is possible. That doesn't mean that this one thing can be modified to whatever we wish. Oh and even worse, it can't "be modified" at all, it's self-modifying and totally out-of-control. Please gear down and realize this first before you spread your oh-so-wise metaphors.

If you don't believe in Telekenisis, what would you say about Magical evocations and stuff like that?

I’m able to use Psychokinesis on a somewhat medium scale; I’m able to influence dice rolls/coin tosses, cause machines such as vendors to malfunction and be fixed, cause pain in insects, thus somewhat controlling their movements, cause such things as flags to wave, affect the growth of plants, and if you can even call it Psychokinesis, control various usually unconscious bodily functions such as body temperature. Such things as my mood and libido affect my control of these abilities.
Personally I wouldn’t trust such things as videos since they can easily be faked. I find the results of certain experiments far more interesting.

I fail to see how a commonly studied phenomena somehow relates to a species depicted in childrens stories with no scientific proof.

      Unfounded slippery slope argument:

Then again, there is also no scientific evidence for PK/TK as well...

My opinion: I don't think PK exists at all [just yet---let evolution take it's course]. There are billions of people in this world, why isn't there ONE person to just step the fuck foward and show everyone that it's true? I mean, there are a whole bunch of kids on the internet who claim to have this power, yet not one person has yet to step foward and PROVE IT! Doesn't that seem a little strange?

But as always, I'm pretty opened minded. The least these people who claim they have powers could do is go over to their nearest university or something, and allow studies to be done. If not, then prepare to be slapped in the face with a healthy amount of skeptism.

Really? Where did you get this information?

I think you may also have the evolution concept backwards. As far as I know, evolution happens in response to necessity. Mankind is on its way to making sure that biological evolution becomes obsolete. With the technology that we are constantly producing to "better ourselves and our way of life," our chances of redeveloping (yes redeveloping) the "psychic" abilities, that many of our distant ancestors quite possibly had, are slim to none. (assuming, for the sake of argument, that they aren't still here, on some small scale)

Ever heard of Uri Geller, the spoon bender? Check out his web-site www.uri-geller.com

First of all, Uri Geller was proved wrong. He was absolutely shut down on the tonight show. If that's not enough evidence to prove he was a phony, I don't know what is.

Now, Oneironaut...I'm not quite sure how you can say I have the evolutionary process backwards? If anything, I'd think your theory is backwards.

We progress over time, and something alon g the lines of TK looks like the next step. I mean, think about it...our thumbs develop...more coordination...then [in the future] possibly develop an ability to control objects with our minds. Of course, to say it exists or ever existed means all of science as we know it is thrown right out the window.

There is NO PROOF of TK, no matter how many people claim there is. Don't get me wrong, I'd love for TK to exist, but I'm pretty confident that nobody in this day in age has it--or else we'd know about it. Correct?

Who knows, maybe I'm wrong. Give me a valid source, and I'd gladly eat my words.

I would still like to hear where you heard there was No Proof, but alright:

Rupert Sheldrake and Lewis Wolpert are both well respected scientists in their fields. Sheldrake has a well-documented history of applying a solid scientific method to his research of parapsychology. The two of them go at it in this debate which gives some statics that you can look up pretty much anywhere, once you read over the article. You can check both of their credentials online, and decide for yourself whether there is documented evidence of PK or not.

      http://www.sheldrake.org/controversies/RSA_text.html

There is also the CIA research that was going on with remote viewing, which is a completely different subject, but sets a base for the possibility of esoteric abilities such as PK. It's funny how people dwell on the fact that the CIA scrapped the research but don't even realize that the reasoning was that the positive "hits" weren't CONSTANT enough for the ability to be used effectively within the CIA. It says nowhere in any of their documents that there were no significant effects found. In fact it says on many experiments that positive effects were found, even though they were not on a satisfactory constant. I think I have a link to info about that on that thread, somewhere, but if not, I'm sure you can find it online.

Also (and I've been talking about this a lot lately) if you haven't read Michael Talbot's The Holographic Universe you're making a premature decision about there being "no evidence" for PK. (Remember, Evidence and Proof are completely different. Keep that in mind when reading anything contrary to your opinion.)

Look up well-respected physicist David Bohm's theory on the illusory nature of reality and how he puts it together to explain a case for the possibility of PK and other "paranormal" phenomena through the concept of reality being no more than a variation of hologram perceived by a formless consciousness.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Bohm
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Implicate_and...Explicate_Order

And I've actually found a posting of the first few pages of the book.
      Introduction: The Holographic Universe

      http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25858

^This is a thread that I started a while ago for this exact reason. The beginning is a bit of a rant, so skim over it if you want. The first bit afterward is about the alleged link between quantum physics and the case for the "paranormal." Afterward there are a lot of links that are about the most prestigious sources of information that you can find on this kinda stuff. There are recognized institutions that study this sort of thing and document their findings. This isn't just a bunch of crap pulled off the net at random looking for anybody who wants to advocate the metaphysical. Whether or not you choose to believe them is up to you, and if you find that any of the links are BS (with credible evidence as to why) then post it and let me know, because I'm looking for credible sources for that thread, not BS.

Once you're done with all these, come back and let me know if you still feel the same way about there being "no scientific evidence" for phenomena like PK.

Second of all, proof is mathematical in nature. Everything else is evidence. Even the conclusion James Randi came to was that "there are easier, more rational ways to bend spoons". He didn't say that no form of kinesis exists. Besides, even if every single person on earth, individually or together, mentally concentrates on bending a spoon and cannot, that does not mean it cannot be done. Even if Uri Gellar is phony, that means nothing in the long run. What if he did want to prove it was fake, so he faked a whole bunch of stuff?

Besides, I believe that how the universe is a function of our beliefs. When Johnny Carson specifically threw out obstacles to debunk Uri Gellar, you don't think that might have caused others to believe it couldn't be done? Another example, I think Murphy's law exists solely because of all the negativity and pessimism.

The thing that most "professional skeptics" fail to realize, or admit (and purposefully so) is that dealing with parapsychology is not some predictable constant that is guaranteed to work, whenever it is applied. There is an uncountable number of variables that can go into whether or not a parapsychological phenomenon works at any given time. Just like you can psyche a javelin thrower into decreasing his throwing prowess, or the energy of thousands of screaming fans can help Tony Hawk complete the first ever 900 during the X-games, any "professional skeptic" can continually raise the goal posts of a proposed "critical test" of an ability, so that the subject fails.
It's a lot easier to do than "skeptics" will admit, because once they do it, even once, they have "proven the phenomenon doesn't exist."

James Randi is Far from an exception in this.

It took Tony Hawk what? 10+ times to complete that 900 at the X-games? They stopped the show and let him go at it over and over as the crowd was going crazy. Everyone wanted to see it. If this was a matter of a "professional skeptic" debunking an "ability," they would have stopped at 4 tries, got no 900, and "proved the phenomenon doesn't exist."

What happened after Tony made the 9 at the X-games? Other skaters all over the globe started busting them out like crazy.

If PK exists, it's basis is psychological. It is more likely a matter of intent, comfort, confidence, focus, expectation, and a limit on any negative outside stimulation, as is any physical or mental ability.

      Just something to think about.

EDIT: Nvm, first i didnt realize ther were 2 pages so this came a bit late and i noticed he was banned What made him get banned tho? anyone know^^?
