Paranormal Activity Inside My House???

Hey folks I am writing this because I have found something quite interesting...Though I do not know if it is a GHOST or what it is...before i tell you what it is, i am going to give you a background story... I moved to Raleigh North Carolina just about a year ago..My family and I are the first ones to live in the house we are in now... A couple months ago I was in my bedroom playing on my xbox 360.. my step mom decided to go to the store..She was gone for 30 mins..She comes home and She hears a noise up on the next level...she goes to investigate it and finds that our tredmill was turned on and it was moving at a low rate of speed She comes back downstairs and asked me if i was upstairs i said no, and asked her why..she told me what i said above (that the tredmill had been turned on and was moving at a low rate of speed) I never left my room the whole time she was gone...I didnt think anything of this story..just thought ok whatever... a few months later i went to go visit family in wisconsin.. my step sister who lives in minnesota had come to visit her mother (who is the one that is in North Carolina) I came back after a week in wisconsin and my step sister came to me and told me this.. "DJ while you were gone one night, I was brushing my hair in our bathroom and your TV turned on....I went in your room and shut it off and went back to brushing my hair and a couple minutes later it turned back on again...I shut it off a second time and it didnt turn back on" I thought that was quite strange, but again, I didnt think anything else of it..Just a few days ago my brother and his girlfriend (also from wisconsin) came down to visit.. One morning my brother tried waking me up.. He knocked on my door and I told him to come in...he said "I cant, the door is locked" I opened the door and told him, "Thats strange, I dont remember locking my door before I went to bed" ( I could have locked it during the night sleep walking, but I havent slept walk since a young child--although i am not ruling out that possibility) The next thing happened today...After doing some research on EVP's and finding out how to conduct your own EVP tests I decided to do so on my own..... I went out and go a Digital Voice Recorder (includes recording only by voice activation) I stayed up for a while in my bedroom to see if I could possibly catch anything on the recorder (I caught nothing) so I went to bed.. I woke up and after a few hours I decided to go upstairs to where the tredmill was...I recorded saying "If there is a presense in this room can you please give me a sign...............Were you the one that turned on the tredmill a few months ago when I was the only one home.............If so, can you give me a sign of your presense" I set down the recorder on a small dresser right next to the tredmill and in the room...You can hear a clock ticking and you could also hear me setting down the recorder and leaving the room...You can also hear a small faint airplane off in the distance, but as soon as You hear me leaving the room a noise comes over on the recorder *a decent noise* like a quality sound that sounded like it was coming from the room...Now after listening to it a bunch of times I still cant make out what it is, but i know its something.. Sadly I am on a MAC so i cannot upload the file..but i am going to go over to my neighbors house today and upload it there and share it with you all later...The strange thing about it is...In the recording you can hear me say "If so can you give me a sign of your presense" (set down the recorder and walk outta the room) then the sound comes on the recorder... The best way I can describe it is, the sound pattern of it..closely relates to someone saying "Yes I can" ME: "If so can you give me a sign of your presense" Sound on Recorder (sound pattern): "Yes I Can" Now i am not going to sit here and say its a ghost, i have no clue to what it is yet, because it has just happened, I just know the background story of the things that have happened in the house and the recording I have..I am going to do further investigating and upload/fix&clean the audio so I can get a better understanding of what it might be...Again I dont know what it is at the moment, but I am going to figure it out....no matter what it might be... I just thought I would share this with you.. please tell me your thoughts

Interresting. Keep investigating and let us know. Whatever you do: Don't EVER bring a Ouija board into your house. If you know any clearvoyants let them have a look at your house. Believe it or not: Catholic priests have knowledge of spirits and some specialists seem quite able to sense them and even to bannish them. Maybe go to the local Catholic church and have a chat about it there. See what their views are and if perhaps one of them can have a look at your house. I'm not religious myself but lately I've encountered a person who I, beyond a shadow of a doubt, believe is possessed by evil. Spirits, demons, insanity..I don't know, but it goes far beyond just the term clinically insane. I can sense atmospheres incredibly well and when I was still mates with this person I would always feel an aweful, darker than dark, maniacal air around him. Now I know why it is and my intuition got confirmed in a way so disturbing I can't even bear to tell another soul. I'm very tempted to walk into a church and ask for some of their views on this.

UPDATE: Well i went to my neighbors house and the program that comes with my digital recorder runs on his computer, but for some reason when we try to change the audio.voc file to audio.wav it wont let us...So i have to figure out a way to do that and also when i get to that point, be able to filter and adjust the sounds of the audio tape so i can more clearly hear the sound... there are othersounds during the 17 min recording ( I had set the recorder down and walked outta the room, that is when you can hear the sound) almost 5 mins in there is a sound like a small thud (or like a creak) which im pretty sure is the house itself... what i could try to do more in experimenting is setting the recorder to voice activation only..so instead of recording all these sounds and me speaking it only records my voice, and if there is paranormal activity going on, if/when it speaks it will also be caught on the recorder... Anybody have any tips on how to convert this file.. I know how to do it on a PC/Windows computer but i am using an Apple Ibook G4 computer...which the program for the recorder doesnt work on here... (i may just have to go to the public library) thanks sotw

I have a mac, and I can convert the file for you. PM me, or send me an email with the attatched file, and I'll post it on here. As for your experience, that is indeed quite exciting! What sort of vibe do you get from this "presence"? I don't think it's something malicious, because you asked if it can reveal it's presence or give you a sign and [you believe] it said something with the same rhythm as "yes I can". Plus, most negative spirits or entities cannot exist on a physical plane. Usually the lower astral planes. Also I agree with sandform. Do NOT bring a Ouija board there. I in general would recommend not using them anyway. Keep us updated

Does it even matter? Ouija is just a hunk of junk, i turfed my sisters a long time ago. I used to swear it was moving on it's own because our position of our fingers and the force without the fingernails looking like they are forcing the move but i believe it's just us moving it via our mind or something. I don't believe in evil spirits/entities anyway.

I've heard too many bad stories about Ouija boards and my sister once was so stupid to give it a try herself with a friend of her. It was years ago. If it was only just the mind I wonder what made both of them run out of the room scared shitless and my mom, who is like the most sober, non-supersticious person ever, so angry at her for doing it. Spiritofthewolf: Maybe you could try and ask for any presences to reveal themselves in a more direct way: hang up tiny bells or chimes, close all windows and doors in the tredmill room and ask them to reveal themselves by making the chimes/bells ring. Make sure to set up a videocam directed at the chimes/bells before doing it. What about that?

SKA, that's a good idea, but most entities don't respond like that I don't think. Most don't respond at all, but if they do, they do it by their own means. I think perhaps a better approach would be to go back to the room and ask it what it's doing there. Again I think it's friendly, but you should use caution. Flanders, the reason I support SKA in saying to not use a Ouija board is for a different reason then him. First off they very rarely work cause most people don't know what they're doing, secondly, in the extremely unlikely event that they do do it right, those things attract some very negative things. Avoid them in general. I don't believe in evil spirits/entities anyway. Of course, that's fine, but then I must ask why are you posting on this thread?

ok i still have my old Digital Recorder with the file which i PM'd Rainman about sending him the file to help me convert it (if possible) but i went to radio shack and spent 100 dollars on a killer OLYMPUS Digital Voice Recorder (That is compatable with my MAC i might add) and the sound quality is great, so if i catch something interesting it will beable to be posted without hassel.

That story gave me some serious goosebumps. Although the Television incident made me grin. I had a lot of fun with universal remotes as a kid. You should be trying to get more recordings!!! Seriously, I'd be interviewing whatever it is!

Haha. Universal remotes. Ahh those were the days. I need to go buy one now haha. High sound quality=good, but what program does that .VOC program play in? I use Mac too but it doesn't even play for me.

it plays in the program that the recorder came with (the recorder came with a disc audio program) or something....I've been doing some more EVP work but nothing so far--i am starting to wonder perhaps if i picked up a radio signal or something, im still not sure what it could be--but in the recording there was a plane flying near my house ( i live in a huge ass neighborhood) and you can hear the plane faintly in the recording as i just walked outta the room, and then that sound appears...but what a hell of a coincidence if it was the plane making that sound as soon as i left the room, i mean damn..what are the chances? But tomorrow i plan on waking up and going to the Mordecal Historical Park, it is where Andrew Johnsons birth home is (our 15th president i believe) I am going to see if i can use my DVR (Digital Voice Recorder) to see if i can capture the spirit they say they have there... Im also going to try to find some graveyards around my neck of the woods to see if i cant capture anything there, i hear those are great spots for EVP work... anywho if i figure anything out with the recording i'll let you all know and if i catch something with my new one i'll be sure to post it... Anybody have any ghost encounters or know of anyone who has?
