      Weird third eye feeling...

Alright, now postpone thoughts of "he's just crazy" until the very end... then feel free to bash me.

Anyways, since I was 9, I've been getting this pecular feeling. It always happened in the same circumstances, and after awhile I pieced together exactly what this circumstance was.

You know when someone is trying to tell you something that makes sense to them, but it doesn't to you... and then you try and figure out how it could possibly make any sense to them, and why? Well, that's when it would happen.

I would get the strong, buzzing, electrical feeling right under my skin between my eyebrows. It would pulsate and seem to flow around, and if I concentrated on it... it would be hard to get it to stop. I'd have to totally clear my mind and not think about it, and then I'd notice that it was gone.

Well, I was 9, and I had no idea what the hell it was. It kind of worried me as well... thinking that I might be crazy or something... so I asked my mom about it. She thought that it was strange, but she couldn't really help me out. She just told me that I must be imagining it. I also thought that if I was imagining it, then why would it be a totally new, unexpected feeling? It I was making it all up in my head, then it should be a feeling that I've already experienced and know how it feels, right?

Anyways... after a few months, I realized that I could cause it to happen without being in that particular circumstance. All I had to do was think this one particular thought (which was complex, but it involved remembering the feeling as well), and it would all of a sudden start happeneing again. And like before, if I concentrated on it too long, it wouldn't go away when I stopped... it would keep pulsating and buzzing around.

And now, after about 12 more years, I've realized that it might be my third eye. I have no idea what I could possibly use this for, or what purpose it serves... I just know that I'm posting this to possibly gain some insight into it from someone who knows more about it than me. If anyone knows what this might be, or what purpose it has, I would appreciate some input.

I dont know if it is third eye, but even if u are imaging it could be new feeling. There is no problem to imagine things that u didnt feel before, but who knows u can be crazy, i am pretty sure, I am.

It's probably just muscle spasms in your brow. I've felt it too but it can be extended across your entire face (that's when I stopped believing it was my third eye). So go ahead and try feeling it in other places, maybe I'm right.
Who needs skill when you have luck?

If it is your third eye, you have 6 other chakras as well. I suggest trying to find the other ones, and see how they compare with what you've been experiencing.

If you're not entirely sure where they are located, it might be best to try to find/feel them yourself first, then check what you feel against whatever diagrams you find on the net.

See... that's thing thing, I know it's not muscle spasms because of that. It doesn't happen anywhere else except for half and inch above the space between my eyebrows. I've also had muscle spasms plenty of times elsewhere, and they feel nothing alike.

There is also something weird that I've found out about it... if I get it going, and can feel it pretty strong, and then I move my hand within close proximity (without touching my forehead) it promptly goes away. After I move my hand away, it comes back. I can do this over and over... I also can try my hardest to feel it with my hand in front of my forehead, but I can never seem to do it. If it's muscle spasms, then why would they stop just because I"m holding a hand in front of my face?

Does this happen when your eyes are closed, or when they are open? Because if it s happening when they are closed, I know what you are experiencing, and have a theory as to what it may be.

I would suggest chakra meditation as well. Couldn't hurt, and if it turns out you're really in touch with them you can do all sorts of neat stuff with that.

on this you are not alone. I have felt it but usually when meditating. I have never figured out what it is, but similar to you same thing happens. I still do not know what to make of it because I can go all day or weeks without it happening then when I try to do the meditation it happens. With me it is when I'm focusing on something.

      the "third eye".
      is actually the pineal gland.

it sits in the center of your brain, and is considered the most mysterious part of the body, to date.

it is very sensitive to light.

activating the third eye, is a form of meditation, and the deeper meditation techniques ALL involve it.

it is said, that focusing on the eye/gland, and nothing but the eye/gland, with no thoughts, will reveal the non-material universe, and give absolute bliss and enlightenment.

activation of kundalini, can be a dangerous, but benificial thing to do, kundalini relates directly to the pineal gland, though it is meant to be an energy (fabled serpent-like creature) that travels up your spine from the base, after opening all of the chakra points.

this is a view of the barain stem leading up towards the pineal gland.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

I can do it with my eyes open, but it is stronger when they are closed.

I'm glad that I'm not alone on this then... the thing I was tripping out about was that I was able to do this when I was 9, and at the time I knew nothing of energy, chakras, or the "third eye..."

Meditation on it makes the feeling stronger, but I never seem to get anything out of it. Is there a certain way that I should focus on this feeling?

Oh, and after finally realizing that it might be the thrid eye (like a few years ago), I researched it and found what
piprichie was talking about... and noticed that I can also feel my crown chakra really well too. It feels very different though... a whole other feeling in itself.

      Hello . . .

I have had the same feeling also. I do believe it is your third eye chakra point and you are feeling energy there. A couple of things to try. Someone earlier mentioned kundalini. In kundalini there is an exercise called the Microcosmic Orbit which is used energize the body and bring on creativity, etc., but it is the normal path of energy in the body also. What you do it imagine energy coming in thru your tailbone (root chakra area) so you breathe in a deep breath imagining it traveling up your spine and pausing on your third eye point. Then on the exhale you breathe the energy down the front of your body and out of your feet. Try this the next time you have that feeling and see if it stops, if so you are moving the energy from that point down thru your other chakras and out of your feet. Another way to move the energy from there (just to test to see if it is energy as we are discussing) . . . try this also when you get the feeling in your third eye point. Using your index and middle fingers together (one is positive and one negative, together they are neutral . . . you want neutral) touch the center of your chin. See if the feeling goes away . . . this is another way to move energy that is building up. I have read about people in some cultures (ie. native american's who learn/are trained to actually see with their third eye). Each of the chakras is associated with an organ - mostly endocrine. The third eye is associated with the pineal gland (but the chakra isn't the actual gland, the chakra is a part of the body's energy system). The pineal gland is involved in many bodily activities including producing melatonin for sleep. Hope this helps!

Yes... I've moved it all the way down to my feet before. It feels like being electrocuted, except not as strong, and not painful... like lightning going down from my head, through my back, and into the ground super-quick. I've also moved it around inside my entire body... building it up to where I can feel it more than I feel my physical body.

I also just tried your index and middle finger exercise, and it works. It does the same thing as what I described happened when I put my hand next to my forehead.

If I leave my fingers there more than a couple seconds, I begin to get a tingling, weird sensation in the very tips of my fingers... almost like how a foot that's fallen asleep feels.

NICE! I guess that you have a strong sense for ch'i. It also might be an indication of an obstruction in the normal flow through your chakras.(not so nice)
Probing around with your mind could be beneficial.
I get the feeling that you have at least a cursory understanding of meditation technique.
I'd be interested to hear of your experiences.

Out of pure curiosity, I tried charging energy into my third eye during meditation just then. It was really quite an amazing meditaion experience. It's still really hard to describe.

I kept on visualising energy charging into my third eye, and my body quickly went into SP. My whole body felt like it was humming and it was so warm. For some reason, my third eye started feeling more distant from where it started to be, so I had to keep reaching higher (hard to describe where I was aiming to visualise), and it felt slowly like the point where my third eye is was getting wider. After that, it felt like my head was turning inside out, like my third eye was moving out and around back to where it started.

A truly amazing experience- nothing like my normal meditation sessions. I never really was aware of the third eye, but I feel incredibly aware of it right now, even as I type this very moment.

I'd be interested to see how such a session would turn out for you.

Did you fall into SP in the middle of the day outside of your normal REM sleep? I might have to try that.

interesting, do you associate figuring something out as a metaphorical opening of your eyes?

the most useful thing you can do with this is learn aura vision, clairvoyance, astral projecting and a number of psionics though most telekinesis is just a waste of time because there is very little piratical use to it
