Thread: TK? Control of "Luck"?

enjoy the coolness of the moment - that was sure a supercool scene -but don't let it harm you. Luck gave you a legendary coolness moment to be remembered by your schoolfriends. That should be all.

i'm saying this because i know how you're feeling. i once let my immagination run too much with a similar story when i was in primary school. i admit i wouldn't have listened if one told me what i'm telling you, but just keep in mind i could possibly be right telling you to chill.

The reason I'm not just chalking this up to a lucky moment is because I've had experience with this sort of thing in the past, whether it's being able to name a card without seeing it, controlling dice rolls, etc. But that's little stuff. Somehow this lock thing seemed a little bigger.

The subconscious vs. the conscious -- the reason for the event may have been in meaning. What you do with your conscious mind doesn't have nearly as much meaning as actions taken through the subconscious. The subconscious is the real power of your mind, it is where the power of true intent comes from, thus where all your real power comes from, be it emotions and skills or magic.

Just don't try to classify anything such too strictly. The point is that anyone can impose their will upon the world. That is basically "magic" but that doesn't make it necessary to classify it into different abilities and whatnot. Because it is, in essence, one's mind affecting the world. However, we, for the most part, are too obsessed with our conscious mind and thus miss out on abilities beyond the typical physical needs we have.

No conscious thought = no rationalising = the subconscious puts forth true intent.
Which is what happened while you were thinking "I could choose positions on this randomly and it would open".
I imagine you weren't thinking this verbally? But rather through conceptual thought? (The deep, true kind of thought, not the verbal conscious thought on the surface.)

Seeing as this is beyond dreaming...

I'll just say that maybe it was your "guide"...
Pshh, let's call it your hara.

Another example... If you are in the dark, in a hilly and rocky area, most would consider it suicidal, to run around blindly.

It is a form of meditation though, to stop thinking and "feel" from the hara. It gives a certain "direction", in a sense.

Of course, this is all theory... but meh it's another answer.

if anybody had any sort of TK ability (believe me i have practice it in the past and had interesting results--but nothing more) if someone really did have TK ability...The Government would be all over them like flies on a pile of cow dung--which im there is someone they have already, but just kept secret....

Okay first off, I personally think this wasn't just randomness. I agree with Merlock. Our subconcious is very great, and unfortunately, there are few moments where it truly speaks out. This event was one of those.

I have a history of strange things, but I don't know what to make of this.

If you don't mind, can you tell me about those? Just curious.

Correct, I rarely think verbally, except for, of course, when I'm trying to arrange my thoughts into a verbal form, like I am now.

Other things in my life... like I mentioned, I've had times where I have been extremely 'lucky' in dice rolls in games, because I was concentrating on the number I wanted it to roll. I had been doing this for ages, but I recently read about it, and so I can describe it to you; apparently you have to not try and control the roll, but rather expect it to land on the one you want, so much that it can't possibly not roll that number, in your mind. For me it usually does.

Other things have been lesser - things more focused in empathy or a sort of thought-sharing, which is why this seeming-TK or bigger modification of chance was big enough for me to post here.
An example of that would be almost constantly with my girlfriend: one of us saying exactly what the other was thinking, among other things like last week I was talking to her in class and a song randomly came into my head. I msn'd it to her and it turned out she was listening to that song at the moment. These things aren't big, but are enough to creep us both out a little.

I don't want to go on and on here.. but if you wish, I can post more...

first of all its impossible that it was tellakanisis cause you where moving it with your hand. any ways if it wasn't luck then it would just be a random influence by your subconscious, it can do some odd things

Not TK as in opening it from standing a foot away. I meant the possibility of sliding the locking mechanism out of place even though the combination wasn't correct. I don't know the specifics of how the inside of a lock works *goes to look it up* but I doubt it was that.

Seems you have a natural "bond" with your subconscious. You communicate with it easier, more clearly, than most others nowadays, drowned in the conscious.

I could also go on but it's best not to. Suffice to say, if you don't need power beyond the usual, it's best to leave it alone. After all, one wouldn't use magic to make a ham & cheese sandwich, heh.

Good advice, but I don't believe I could ever just 'leave it alone', it seems as a part of my nature I am always looking for this sort of thing.
Of course, if in the future I am able to better control such things I would not use them as lightly as to make a sandwich or such with them

or something
philosophical theories, nothing more, a little less, but if what you look for is something that works (even if maybe a little "strange"), maybe looking in that direction would more productive than aiming to tk and similar...
