      OOBE or false awakening?

Some days ago, I had a feeling that I was kinda “flying” around in my room some minutes after I woke up from a dream, or at least was convinced I woke up.
I am really not sure if it was a OOBE or a false awakening dream.
I didn’t try a WILD or anything, I was just recalling my dreams earlier in that night. (That’s almost a ritual every time I wake up.)
It was just a few seconds, and I didn’t had time to do a reality check to find out if it was a false awakening.

It was very strange, but it also felt very real.

I have never had any hallucinations, even not in cases when suffering from lack of sleep (36-48 hours with no sleep).
But I have experienced déjà vu feelings, though.

I will like to hear your comments.
      Are you dreaming?

funny thing about FAs is that you actually *wake up* after it

      so, did you wake up?

otherwise it could be and OBE.

Can't remember I did, but my short-term memory is often very bad.

      Hi Everyone,
I've had several spontaneous O.B.E.'s (real fun ) and have been an avid lucid dreamer so I know how they are different from eachother.

I have to say that if it had been an O.B.E. you would definantly know it. O.B.E.'s are very distinct. You see, feel, and hear just as you do normally in waking hours. Except your senses are actually heightened. YOU ARE FULLY CONSCIOUS WITHOUT TRYING TO BE (unlike a lucid dream where you have to practice to sustain it and u become easily distracted). There is no fogginess as in a dream. That is really what makes them so scary to people, because it feels very, very real to you. You KNOW it's not a dream, and the first reaction is usually one of panic. At least that's been my experience with them.

      Hope this helps.

How many OBE's do you think you have experienced?

I am wondering if OBE's are more pleasant if you have experienced them before, and are familiar with them?

      Thanks for the welcome!!

I personally enjoy lucid dreaming way more than O.B.E's. Only because I haven't mastered them yet. I've only just reached the point of not panicking. Your senses are very heightened and everything seems sooo real that it's startling. Myself I've always had them spontaneously so I never knew they were coming. And always when I became conscious I was already floating high up by my ceiling. So it's like I woke-up into our normal everyday reality only floating up by the ceiling. And as I said your senses are heightened. For instance my room during an O.B.E is exactly the same as it is normally, only you see every objects aura. You can feel the presence of other entities though you may not be able to see them. Which gives you that quesy, uneasy feeling. Also lucid dreaming is a very good primer to O.B.E.'s Because just like lucid dreaming, in an O.B.E. you create by thinking. So if you think there's a bad entity in the room with you, that's what you'll create and that's what you'll see. If you will yourself to rise up, you'll rise up, but you can't physically try to rise up. The laws that govern are different while in your astral body. The biggest obstacle to conquer is the fear factor. Because it is so crystal clear. (You are truly conscious and awake in every sense. There is no comfort by being in a foggy ever-changing dream because it's absolutely unlike dreaming.)

There are other forms of astral projection where your astral body doesn't actually leave your body. It's called etheric astral projection, and I've never experienced that though I hear it's not as shocking to your system. Perhaps the etheric projection is related more to lucid dreaming and that realm of mind.

Don't be surprised if when you practice astral projection you wake up (in your body) paralyised. You'll be able to move in a few minutes. This often occurs prior to you becoming conscious during the projection. But it is a definite sign that your making headway.

Sorry forgot to answer your question. I have about 6 spontaneous O.B.E's a year. This has been occuring since I was six. I am now 29.
