Need Advice on a Dream Visitor

Well, this will be my first post on this site. First of all, I decided to come here in hopes that I could discuss dreams with people and also get some advice about my own experiences.

I've always had realistic dreams, in which I can hear, feel, smell, and touch just about everything. Mirrors, music, television usually work in my dreams, but I have one problem - I can't control them.
A while back, I had a dream where I was babysitting the next door neighbor kid, which I usually do on weekdays. He was playing on his trampoline and I was watching him, when I suddenly noticed someone standing at the edge of the yard. It was a dark figure, and definitely a man. He was wearing a sort of cloak, black and I couldn't see his face. I was aware I was having a dream.
Alright, you know when you're having a dream and everything and everyone just seems a part of the dream background, even if they're people you converse with? Well, the kid I babysat was like that. This man wasn't. He seemed just as real as I was, I could SEE him breathing and I knew he was looking right at me. He didn't scare me, really. I didn't feel anything negative about him...but I was terrified about what was behind him. There's a forest at the edge of the yard, and he was standing in front of it. He turned around to leave, motioning for me to follow him. I never did. I was too afraid that he was a bad entity or I would start having a nightmare.

On and off for the next several weeks I would dream about the same guy. He never seemed threatening - but he was standing in front of something frightening every time. Once he was standing in front of a tornado, another time it was a dark hallway, another one was a door to a basement. I never attempted to talk to him, and I really regret it. Eventually I think he gave up, because I haven't dreamed of him since.

So here's the part where I want some advice on. Does anyone know who (or what) he might be? Why was he always trying to get me to follow him into something terrifying, and why was he so persistent for a while? He wasn't scary, so was he trying to ask me for help in some way, or was he just pretending to be good? I can't give any more detail than that, except once again I must state he felt entirely real, was breathing like a normal human being would, I never saw his face. He was about 5"9 or so and was probably anywhere from 20-40. Hoping someone can help me out here. It's really bothering me even though I haven't had a dream about him for months.

EDIT: Well I've been looking around reading about Night Stalkers and Walkers, etc. Could this be the problem? Come to think of it, I'm a really easy target, and I'm constantly dreaming of random people either hurting me to unbelievable extents (IE. drowning, stabbing, shooting) and even sexual assault. Honestly, I don't care. The pain sucks, yes, but I take it well and I wouldn't mind getting some more advice on these guys...

Just go with the guy next time, or at least ask him who he is and what he wants. He seems harmless enough thus far. If he was up to no good, he surely would have caused some mischief by now.

My only problem is that he's been gone for months. Is there a way to attract him back to me, without attracting all the night stalkers I seem to get?
