man i am so glad i found this site, i'll post about my lucid dreams later but for now ima stay on topic - adrenaline is definitely a factor in the time dilation phenom, but i think the time rewind thing is different altogether - i used to race motocross, drag cars, go-karts, roadrace, supermoto, skate, bmx, basically all the "xtreme" stuff, tae kwon do and i still surf - time has slowed down more times for me than i can count, it comes in handy when making decisions and ur doing 125mph or at treetop level coming down on flat ground and u have completely let go of the bike or u have a 200lb dude trying to sucker punch u...
i have also worked in a lot of resturaunts and have experienced time literally speeding up during a lunch rush - i had the time on the ticket and a clock right in front of me, it takes 5 minutes to cook the food and less than 2 to get it plated, plus it was all fried so it was easy...i would get several tickets at once, drop all the food, plate it up and the servers would complain it had been more than 15 minutes - i would shout at them and throw stuff, insisting it had not been - until i looked at the clock and my tickets in disbelief. 15 minutes had indeed passed since i had recieved the LAST ticket and i would always drop everything i needed, the food was not burnt and i was not slacking in my duties. what the hell happened?
this also occurs under the influence of psychotropic drugs, or anything that speeds ur body up - i have been at many a bar with drunk friends and i was on amphetamines and therefore NOT drunk and witnessed my buddy proceed to literally fall off the bar stool, hit the floor and NOT spill his drink, even better i was the only one in the bar who saw it and he jumped up and was like "did anybody see that?" him falling from the stool seemed to me to take about 10-15 seconds, i tried to reach out and catch him which is prolly why he didn't spill his drink - but i remember thinking "oh crap he's falling, i should probably catch him. that would suck if he spilled that expensive drink i just bought him. yea i should prolly go ahead and grab him." when i replay it in my mind i have 2 versions - the split-second of him falling and the 10-15 second version...
later that nite him and another friend almost got into a fight, i was still amped up and he went to swing at this dude in the back seat when he was sitting in my passenger seat, i was in the drivers seat and saw it coming and thought "aw crap he's gonna bust this dudes face all over my car. better stop him. naw it'll be funny, screw it. no, i can't let him clock this old man." i caught his fist in midswing, time returned to normal, when he went to swing again with his free hand time slowed down again and i caught his other fist...i had time to make an observation and decision all in the span of about .25 seconds...
maybe this (reflexes) comes from the combination of the motorsports and tae kwon do (u learn to anticipate opponents moves and react accordingly, kinda like passive-aggressive self-defense - ima hit u before u hit me cuz i know when and where ur gonna hit me) or it was because i was on speed, everytime i am on it time seems to slow down for me...
funny side note: i was fixing computers when windows issued the service pack that "fixed" the daylight saving time debacle and some computers would set themselves backwards, forwards or remain the same time - when i set them to the correct time they would reset themselves - i thought i was losing my freaking mind...
